Haridwar is stepping into a new era of agricultural excellence. Under our latest initiative, farmers in Bhagwanpur and Bahadrabad blocks will cultivate 40 hectares of premium Basmati rice, focusing on organic and high-quality production.

This project is designed to:
- Empower local farmers with direct market linkages.
- Promote organic farming practices for sustainable growth.
- Expand opportunities for international export, ensuring Haridwar’s Basmati fragrance reaches global kitchens.

With government support and farmer participation, we are confident that Haridwar’s Basmati will not only strengthen our local economy but also make its mark on the world stage.

Supporting Rural Women, Celebrating Local Enterprise | REAP Haridwar

Under REAP Haridwar, SHG women are showcasing and selling their handcrafted Rakhis through stalls set up across different blocks of Haridwar ahead of Raksha Bandhan.

These stalls provide women entrepreneurs with an opportunity to showcase their skills, access local markets, generate income and strengthen their enterprises.

By promoting locally made products, REAP continues to support women-led livelihoods and community-based rural enterprises.

Clean Village, Sustainable Livelihoods | REAP Haridwar

A cleanliness and waste-management inspection was conducted at Village Belda, Roorkee Block, with a focus on developing the village as a model village.

Emphasis was placed on wet and dry waste segregation, composting, recycling and proper waste utilisation, along with greater community participation.

Women from Radhe-Radhe SHG under REAP HARIDWAR actively participated in the cleanliness and awareness activities. Directions were also given to identify 10 more villages to replicate similar sanitation and waste-management practices.

Driving New Opportunities through Private Partnership in Haridwar
Haridwar, 26 February 2026 — A comprehensive presentation session under the Farm-Based Private Partnership initiative was successfully conducted under the chairmanship of Chief Development Officer Dr. Lalit Narayan Mishra. The objective of the program was to accelerate entrepreneurship development, women empowerment, and livelihood enhancement under AWBP 2025–26.
Selected institutions presented detailed technical proposals focusing on establishing self-employment and group-based enterprises across various development blocks of the district. Key aspects including technical feasibility, financial viability, and implementation strategies were thoroughly reviewed.
Senior officials actively evaluated the proposals and provided valuable suggestions. The CDO emphasized that private sector participation will create sustainable livelihood opportunities and strengthen SHGs and rural youth through transparent and quality-driven selection processes.
