What should constitute education in a wholesome? Well that's where the idea of ECK comes into its inception. We believe in the age old proverb "Education is the all-round development of a human being". This proverb can't be confined to the limitations of a school. A child spends just one fourth of a day in an educational institution. How should we cope with the requirements of this proverb i.e. hi
s “all-round” development? That is where ECK gets to contribute. Education Club Kashmir aims to work on the following:
1. Establishing a social library which will enable the underprivileged and deserving students to avail quality books related to their curriculum and help them to shape their dreams into reality.
2. Career counselling to all schools going students; rich and poor in order to channel their potential and talents into the right directions for a better representation of our region in different fields of life.
3. Educational drives to encourage young children who have left education at young ages to re-enroll them back into schools by providing them with psychological, moral and financial support.
4. Organizing student specific incentive based events among public as well as private school going students. The prime purpose of these events will be to provide a level platform to all students to exploit, expand and enhance their potentials. Various events under our program will include:
i) General Aptitude Tests
ii) Science Olympiads
iii) Computer coding and application development for better digital literacy. iv) Poetry and Art competitions
v) Public speaking competitions
vi) Personality development programmes
vii) Language development programmes
viii) Life skills development programmes like first aiding, cooking, gardening, volunteering etc. vii) Sports events not limited to just mainstream sports. Table tennis, Sprinting etc. x) Scientific and recreational tours
xi) Survival skill camping. xii) Events rejuvenating Kashmiri culture, tradition and history.... And much more
5. Bridging the gap between a student's curriculum and the dynamic competitive scenario. We all are or have been students in our Education system, therefore we all have our different experiences about how we got our education, what difficulties we faced, what could have been done better by us or could have been done for the betterment of us, what we would do if we could do a time travel to the past and what learnt lessons can we pass on to our younger selves. We cannot change our own past but learn from it and pass on the knowledge to our future generations, who are our future leaders, scholars, bureaucrats, doctors, engineers, astronauts, politicians and a million more important characters. We at ECK therefore want to contribute back to the society. We want to provide opportunities to all students, rich and poor, by which they can find their spark, understand their potential, enhance their skills and shine in a bright sunny day. Our efforts won’t be limited to just students but their parents, their teachers and all stakeholders of our society. Education as we believe is not just curriculum but also being human. We aspire to inculcate the emotion of inclusiveness, togetherness, brotherhood and most importantly CIVIC sense.
