HAMIRPUR- It was Raja Hamir Chand who built the fort at Hamirpur and the present town derived its name from this ruler.This district was made in 1

972 by carving it out from the Kangra district. Hamirpur town is the Headquarter of this District, which lies on Shimla Dharamshala road. Majority of the population here comprise of Hindus. Bulk of the people speak Pahari. Hamirpur is the most Literate district in Himachal Pradesh. The majority of its population fluently speaks Hindi. Beas river flows through the northern part of and Satluj river flows through the southern part of district Hamirpur
EDUCATION- Hamirpur is now considered as an educational hub of Himachal Pradesh it is the second educated region in India, male literacy is 83%, and female literacy is 79%. NEARBY PLACES- Tikker,Bhota,Awahdevi,Taal,Salouni,Deotsidh,Nadaun,Mehre and Barsar etc. TIKKER- this town is situated at about 10 km from hamirpur distt.here the road has a link to taal,tauni-devi,awahdevi etc.Competent Automobiles Co. Limited, a automobile dealer is located at village Tikkar - Didwin in district Hamirpur. Bhota-bhota is a town and a nagar panchayat in Hamirpur district in the state of Himachal Pradesh, India.its about 15km's from the distt. hamirpur.the town has the links to major places like jahu,kullu,shimla,una etc.charitable hospital bhota is situated here. SALOUNI- salouni is a lovely town near hamirpur.it is about 24km from hamirpur distt. Blessed with a pleasant climate all the year round,

towns. DEOTSIDH- The Baba Balak Nath Sidhpeeth is located at a distance of 50 Kilometers from the District Headquarter Hamirpur Himachal Pradesh India on a hill known as ‘Deoth Sidh’. Deotsidh Temple :- The cave temple of Baba Balak Nath is thronged by devotees all the year round. It is situated on the border of Bilaspur (70 Kms), Hamirpur (30 Kms) and is well connected by roads from all sides.shahtalai is a nearby palce to deotsidh. During Navratras, there is a continuous stream of visitors to receive blessings of the Baba.jai babe di. MEHRE- mehre and barsar these are two nearby cities and are about 35 km's from distt hamirpur.the road leads to garli,una,shahtalai etc.many colleges are here. AWAHDEVIi- Awah Devi is located in Hamirpur district.awahdevi temple is situated here which is so much famous.it is a calm and cool place and about 40 km from hamirpur. so we all spent our childhood here and many of us are now out of here but the memories and love is still same as past time....
