Haldwani Zoo & Safari - India's First Carbon Neutral Zoo Uttarakhand
The proposed International Zoo-Cum-Safari to be built in around 400 acres of land in Haldwani town, in Nainital district will be the first 'Carbon Neutral' zoo in the country.

Carbon Neutral facility means almost zero emission of Carbon from the premises as it will use natural resources such as sun, wind and water to harness electricity and use it. The proposed facility will have 19 segments including botanical garden, biodiversity park etc.

अवध तिरहुत रेलवे
यह फोटो काठगोदाम रेलवे स्टेशन की है. यहां तक ट्रेन से आते थे और उसके बाद तांगा से नैनीताल का सफ़र होता पर सब कोई नैनीताल जाता भी नहीं था .वह खास लोगों की जगह थी .यह फोटो करीब अस्सी साल पहले की है तब यह अवध तिरहुत रेलवे का हिस्सा था.
आजादी से पहले रेल निजी हाथों में ही थी पर इसे कोई व्यवसायी नहीं बल्कि राजा महाराजा और नवाब ने अपने लिए चलाना शुरू किया था.
तिरहुत रेलवे उनमें से एक थी जिसे दरभंगा स्टेट चला रहा थी. 1874 में दरभंगा के महाराजा लक्ष्मीश्वर सिंह ने तिरहुत रेलवे की शुरूआत की थी. तिरहुत रेलवे कंपनी का सैलून मशहूर था .इसमें देश के पहले प्रधानमंत्री जवाहर लाल नेहरू, प्रथम राष्ट्रपति राजेन्द्र प्रसाद, डॉ सर्वपल्ली राधाकृष्णनन, मदन मोहन मालवीय से लेकर तमाम बड़े नेताओं ने सफर किया था.
तिरहुत रेलवे कंपनी के पास बड़ी लाइन और छोटी लाइन के लिए कुल दो सैलून थे.इसमें चार डिब्बे थे. पहला डिब्बा बैठकखाना और बेडरूम था, दूसरा डिब्बा स्टॉफ़ के लिए, तीसरा डिब्बा पैंट्री और चौथा डिब्बा अतिथियों के लिए होता था.

माँ नन्दा सुनंदा के पर्व - माँ नैना देवी का मंदिर की सजावट*

नैनीताल में, नैनी झील के उत्त्तरी किनारे पर नैना देवी मंदिर स्थित है। 1880 में भूस्‍खलन से यह मंदिर नष्‍ट हो गया था। बाद में इसे दुबारा बनाया गया।

यहां सती के शक्ति रूप की पूजा की जाती है। मंदिर में दो नेत्र हैं जो नैना देवी को दर्शाते हैं। नैनी झील के बारें में माना जाता है कि जब शिव सती की मृत देह को लेकर कैलाश पर्वत जा रहे थे, तब जहां-जहां उनके शरीर के अंग गिरे वहां-वहां शक्तिपीठों की स्‍थापना हुई। नैनी झील के स्‍थान पर देवी सती के नेत्र गिरे थे। इसीसे प्रेरित होकर इस मंदिर की स्‍थापना की गई है।

पौराणिक कथा के अनुसार दक्ष प्रजापति की पुत्री उमा का विवाह शिव से हुआ था। शिव को दक्ष प्रजापति पसन्द नहीं करते थे, परन्तु वह देवताओं के आग्रह को टाल नहीं सकते थे, इसलिए उन्होंने अपनी पुत्री का विवाह न चाहते हुए भी शिव के साथ कर दिया था।

मंगलवार शाम नैनीताल जिले में भारी बारिश से नदी नाले उफान पर आ गये। रकरिसा नाला और कलसिया नाले का पानी कई घरों में घुस गया। हर तरफ हल्द्वानी में पानी पानी नजर आया। गाड़िया बहने लगी लोगों के मकान धंस गये।

Located in the Bhabhar region in the Himalayan foothills on the banks of the Gaula River, The town of Haldwani was established in 1834, as a mart for hill people who visited Bhabar during the cold season. The establishment of the Bareilly-Nainital provincial road in 1882 and the Bhojeepura-Kathgodam railway line by Rohilkund and Kumaon Railway in 1884 helped develop the town into a major trading post and then a hub between the hilly regions of Kumaon and the Indo-Gangetic Plains.
