A street play on Child Abuse and Child Labour was organised by District child protection unit ( DCPU)

The event aimed to educate and sensitize the public on critical issues affecting children.
The street plays conveyed a crucial messages including: Prevention of child abuse, child labor and emphasizing the importance of reporting child related issues through helpline no. 1098 and concerned department.

Mobile Van Awareness Campaign on Child Protection Issues Concludes Successfully.
The District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Dima Hasao and Child Helpline Unit(CHL), Dima Hasao in collaboration with SUROXITO XAISHOB, SONALI AXOM, successfully conducted a mobile van awareness campaign on child protection issues on 12 February 2026.
This event was part of a comprehensive 90-day campaign supported by the State Child Protection Society (SCPS), Assam. The mobile van traversed the route from Lower Haflong to Mahur and back, engaging communities with vital information on safeguarding children.

Dated 20th December,2025 as part of the 90-day campaign "Xurohito Xaishab Sonali Axom", a Child Labour Rescue and Rehabilitation drive was conducted by District Child Protection Unit and District Level Task Force at Lower Haflong, Sarkari Baghan, Dhobilane, Mahadev Tilla, Boro Haflong and Market area.
The drive was led by DCPO, Labour Officer, Special Juvenile Police Unit, and CHL team.
One minor was rescued from haflong market during the drive.

A delegation comprising the team of the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), Dima Hasao, members of the Child Welfare Committee (CWC), and representatives from the Child Helpline Unit conducted a visit to the Hosana Orphan Home, a Child Care Institute (CCI) located in Moulhoi. Led by the District Child Protection Officer, the team aimed to assess the conditions and support systems in place for the children residing at the home.

During the visit, the team engaged with the officials of Hosana Orphan Home, addressing various challenges faced by the institution in providing care and support to the children. They also interacted with the children, focusing on their experiences, concerns, and overall well-being. The visit underscores the commitment of the DCPU, CWC, and Child Helpline Unit to monitor and enhance the welfare of children in care homes, in alignment with the Juvenile Justice Act and other child protection frameworks.
