Jal Vandana was observed at Naag Dhara source under 49 Legship GPU on 18th March 2026 in the presence of the Panchayat President, Panchayat Members, GPK staff, Junior Engineer (J.E.), and VWSC committee members. The program aimed to create awareness about the importance of water conservation and the protection of natural water sources. Participants actively took part in the program and emphasized the need for sustainable water management and community responsibility.

We are proud to share that our Gram Panchayat Unit has been selected as a Child-Friendly Gram Panchayat Unit (CFGPU).

Under this initiative, our GPU is actively working for the well-being of children, including those below 18 years of age, through initiatives such as Bal Sabha, cleanliness drives, awareness programs, and child participation activities.

With the support and guidance of the Hon’ble Panchayat President, Panchayat Members, and dedicated staff, we aim to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment where every child can grow with dignity and confidence.

Together, we move forward towards building a truly child-friendly village.

A meeting was held on 01/12/2025 in the presence of the Panchayat President, members, Zilla Panchayat, AD, GPU staff, the five ward Samaj representatives, SHG, the SMC Committee of the school, and representatives of the 49 Legship GPU. The meeting discussed the preparations for the upcoming Republic Day Celebration on 26th January 2026, which will be organised jointly by the 49 Legship GPU and all Samaj groups.

Furthermore, on 02/12/2025, a follow-up discussion was held with the Area MLA. After receiving the final decision from the Area MLA Sir, it was confirmed that both physical and financial support will be extended for the successful conduct of the event. Preparations for the programme are currently ongoing with active participation from all concerned committees and community groups.

On 24/11/2025, a Ward Sabha was organised by the 49 Legship GPU at Hingdam Junior High School. All five ward members were present and discussed matters related to MGNREGA and overall ward development in the presence of the Panchayat President, members, AD Sir, GPU staff, and all ward representatives.

Feeling truly honoured to be part of this charitable donation drive held in loving memory of Lt. Paul Seeling—a beautiful initiative dedicated to supporting and uplifting persons with disabilities, and a reminder of how compassion can create lasting impact in our community. This meaningful program, organised by the 49 Legship Gram Panchayat Unit and sponsored by Detlef Seeling, brought together people with a shared purpose: to extend love, care, and dignity to those in need.

The event stood as a touching tribute, not just to honour a beloved soul, but also to inspire kindness and unity among all who participated. This is to notify all Office Staff and the General Public that the schedule for Quorum Day has been revised. Previously observed on Monday and Tuesday, it will now be conducted on the following days:

• Monday
• Thursday

This revised schedule shall be followed with immediate effect.

Furthermore, as per the norms of the Government of Sikkim, Thursday shall be observed as Traditional Dress Day. All staff members are requested to attend office in proper traditional attire on Thursdays.

All concerned are hereby informed to take due note of the above and comply accordingly.

✨ 12th November 2025 – A Memorable Pilgrimage Tour ✨

On 12th November 2025, our GPU Panchayat President, respected Panchayat members, and dedicated GPK staff successfully organized a one-day pilgrimage tour to Namchi for our respected elders aged 60 years and above from all five wards of our GPU.

The tour was not just a journey, but a heartfelt gesture to express love, respect, and gratitude towards our senior citizens who have guided our community with their wisdom and life experience. Everyone enjoyed visiting the holy sites, sharing moments of joy, and creating lasting memories together.

This wonderful and successful program reflected the strong unity and teamwork among our Panchayat members and staff, who worked with full dedication to ensure the comfort, safety, and happiness of all our elders throughout the day.

We extend our sincere thanks and appreciation to everyone who contributed to making this pilgrimage tour a truly blessed and memorable experience for our respected elders. 🙏🌿

A Gram Sabha was held at 49 Legship GPU in the presence of the Panchayat President, Members, and the Project Vigilance Officer.
The program was organised by NHPC Rangit Power Station, Namchi District, regarding the theme of stopping corruption and spreading awareness.
The discussion highlighted the Central Government’s initiative to curb corruption, as passed by the Parliament of India, encouraging citizens to lodge complaints through the Central Vigilance Commission (CBC) online system, which ensures 99.9% online complaint processing.
