An architectural marvel of the Kakatiya dynasty, the Thousand Pillars Temple reflects the artistic excellence that flourished in Hanamkonda, Telangana.
Tracing its origins to 1163 CE, the temple was built during the rule of Kakatiya king Rudra Deva and is admired for its star-shaped architecture. Its three principal shrines are dedicated to Lord Shiva, Lord Vishnu and Lord Surya, complemented by a magnificent monolithic Nandi carved from black basalt.
