The 2nd Phase of DBT disbursement under the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme was observed across various districts of Assam through district-level programmes held at the offices of the respective District Commissioners.
Beneficiaries from different districts were present at the DC Offices and participated in the programme through Video Conferencing (VC), connecting with the State-level launch held at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Dispur.
The programmes were attended by the respective District Commissioners, along with Hon’ble Members of Parliament (MPs) and Members of the Legislative Assembly (MLAs) of Assam, who interacted with and extended their support to the beneficiaries.
Under the 2nd Phase, eligible beneficiaries are receiving ₹10,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), covering four months of financial assistance from April to July 2026.
The district-level participation reflects the collective commitment of the Government of Assam towards empowering young graduates, supporting their transition from education to employment, and enabling them to build a brighter and more secure future.

Today, the 2nd Phase of DBT disbursement under the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme was formally launched by Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, at a programme held at Lok Sewa Bhawan, Dispur.
The programme was attended by Hon’ble Minister, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, Shri Biswajit Daimary, Hon’ble Minister, Revenue and Disaster Management, Shri Keshab Mahanta, and senior officials of the Government of Assam.
Under the 2nd Phase of the Scheme, eligible beneficiaries are receiving ₹10,000 each through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT), covering four months of financial assistance (April–July 2026). The Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme aims to support fresh graduates of 2025 from Government and public institutions of Assam in their transition from education to employment by providing monthly financial assistance and enhancing their career readiness. A total of 47,505 beneficiaries received financial assistance under the 2nd Phase of the Chief Minister’s Jibon Prerana Scheme through Direct Benefit Transfer (DBT) today.
This initiative reaffirms the Government of Assam’s commitment to empowering the youth and creating greater opportunities for their future growth and success.

The Departmental Training Programme for Deputy Directors/Senior Principals, Junior Principals, Superintendents, Senior Supervisors, and Supervisors of the Directorate of Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam commenced today and will continue from 31st August to 5th September 2026 at the Conference Hall, DECT, Rehabari, Guwahati.

The programme aims to strengthen administrative efficiency, enhance professional competencies, and promote effective implementation of departmental initiatives across the State.

The inaugural session was graced by Shri Tankeswar Das, ACS, Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training, Assam, who emphasized the importance of continuous learning, capacity building, and effective public service delivery in achieving the Department’s objectives.

Today Hon’ble Minister, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department (SEED) & Other, Government of Assam, Shri Biswajit Daimary, chaired a review meeting with all District Employment Officers of Assam and the Senior Principals,Principals and Superintendents of ITIs across the State. The meeting was attended by Dr. Om Prakash, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the GoA, SEED; Smti Kasturi Bharali, ACS, Secretary to the GoA, SEED and other Senior Officers of the Department. Discussions focused on enrolment of students in ITIs,strengthening skill development, Careern Guidance,Employment services, vocational training, and enhancing the effectiveness of field-level implementation to create better opportunities for the youth of Assam.

Connecting Talent with Opportunity!

The District Employment Exchange, Sivasagar successfully conducted a Recruitment Drive for the post of Development Manager on 10th July, 2026.

A total of 35 job seekers participated in the recruitment process for 4 vacancies, reflecting the continued efforts of the Directorate to facilitate meaningful employment opportunities for the youth of Assam.

Today Dr. Om Prakash, IAS, Commissioner & Secretary to the Government of Assam, Skill, Employment & Entrepreneurship Department, visited ITI Guwahati to review the functioning of the ITI,Guwahati and the Centre of Excellence established in collaboration with Tata Technologies.

During the visit, he assessed the state-of-the-art training infrastructure, interacted with officials and trainees, and reviewed the Centre's efforts in imparting industry-aligned, technology-driven skills. He emphasized the importance of strengthening industry-academia partnerships to enhance the employability of Assam's youth and ensure that skill development initiatives remain aligned with evolving industry requirements.

The visit reflects the Government of Assam's continued commitment to developing a highly skilled workforce and creating greater employment opportunities through quality technical education and industry collaboration.

Hon'ble Minister of Skill, Employment and Entrepreneurship Department, Assam, Shri Biswajit Daimary, today graced the 48th edition of the Mini Recruitment Drive organized by the District Employment Exchange and Model Career Centre, Guwahati. The programme, which has been conducted regularly since February 2024, continues to serve as an important platform connecting job seekers with prospective employers.

During the programme, the Hon'ble Minister addressed the candidates and conveyed his best wishes for their interviews and a bright future ahead.

Three employers participated in today's recruitment drive, namely Apollo Hospital (G.S. Road), Swagat Hospital, and Blinkit. A total of 82 candidates took part in the programme, out of which 21 candidates were selected by the participating employers.
