ITI Skills Competition 2026, organised by the Directorate of Employment and Craftsmen Training (DECT), Government of Assam, concluded today with a closing ceremony at Govt. ITI Guwahati under the chairmanship of Shri Narendra Kumar Shah, IAS, Director, Employment & Craftsmen Training. The event was graced by several dignitaries including Shri Pranjit Das, Joint Director (I/C), Shri Ranjit Borthakur, Deputy Director, Shri Bharat Bhusan Das, GM, Indian Oil Corporation Ltd. and Chairman of the Institute Management Committee, and Ms Aibhee Lata Boro, Sr. Principal, ITI Guwahati.
The competition was conducted in three stages - Intra-ITI, Zonal and State Level with participation from Government, PPP and Private ITIs across Assam. A total of 22 trades, including advanced trades such as Industrial Robotics, Digital Manufacturing Technician, Basic Designer & Virtual Verifier (Mechanical), ICT System Maintenance and Solar Technician (Electrical), were featured.
The State Level Competition was held from 10–11 March 2026 at Govt. ITI Guwahati, Govt. ITI Guwahati (Women), Govt. ITI Nalbari and TRTC, among 81 zonal winners. The event aims to motivate trainees and prepare them for national and international skill competitions, making them ready for global skill challenges.
