Faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University—Dr. Ankur Goswami, Mr. Supran Chakravarty, Dr. Mrinal Kanti Sen, and Dr. Arindom Bora—participated in the North East India Infrastructure Summit & Exhibition 2026 held in Shillong on 15 June 2026.

Faculty members from the Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, presented their interdisciplinary research at the ICSSR-NERC Sponsored International Seminar held on 27–28 July 2026 at Mystique Mayong Eco Resort, Mayong.

📖 Dr. Pori Das presented research on the acoustic properties of traditional Ahom lime mortar for sound healing, while Dr. Ankur Goswami, along with Ms. Sutanuka Nath and Dr. Bijita Sarmah, presented a study on healing environments, indigenous ritual spaces, and sustainable built forms.

The Department of Civil Engineering is pleased to share that Mr. Subhrangshu Purkayastha, Assistant Professor, served as a Resource Person for two expert sessions during the internship programme “Applications of Ordinary and Partial Differential Equations with MATLAB,” organised by the Department of Basic Sciences, Assam Don Bosco University. Held in offline mode on 3 and 4 July 2026, the sessions focused on the implementation of Euler and second, third, and fourth order Runge–Kutta methods using MATLAB. 🌊 Civil Engineering Faculty & Scholars at BRAHMA Training Workshop 🎓

Mr. Supran Chakravarty, Assistant Professor, Department of Civil Engineering, Assam Don Bosco University, along with research scholars Mr. Hiranmayananda Mohanta, Ms. Pearlymon B. Manners, and Ms. Ish*ta Paul, participated in the 2-day BRAHMA (Braided River Aid–Hydro Morphological Analyzer) Training Workshop held at NEHARI, Brahmaputra Board, in collaboration with IIT Guwahati, on 24–25 June 2026.

💧 The workshop focused on advanced river modelling, hydro-morphological analysis, sustainable river management, and river engineering, featuring sessions by eminent experts from India and abroad. 🌍

Heartiest congratulations to Mr. Subhrangshu Purkayastha, faculty member of the Department of Civil Engineering, School of Technology, Assam Don Bosco University, on the publication of his research paper titled "Low Reynolds Number Flow and Wake Dynamics Past a Sharp-Nose Sharp-Base Bluff Body" in Progress in Engineering Science, a prestigious Elsevier journal.

This research was carried out as part of his doctoral work at the Indian Institute of Technology Kharagpur under the guidance of Prof. Mohammad Saud Afzal, Department of Civil Engineering, IIT Kharagpur.

The Department of Civil Engineering, School of Technology, Assam Don Bosco University, successfully organized a **6-day Training Programme on "Paints and Coatings for Civil Engineering Students"** (24–30 June 2026) for B.Tech 2nd Semester students.

Conducted by the **Paints and Coatings Skill Council (PSCS), Mumbai**, under the **Viksit Bharat** initiative, the programme provided students with valuable hands-on knowledge of paints and coatings, their applications in the construction industry, and the skills needed to enhance their professional readiness and employability.
