We are pleased to inform you that Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights (ASCPCR) in collaboration with State Child Protection Society (SCPS), Assam with support from UNICEF Assam is going to celebrate the 3rd Child Protection Day of the state of Assam on 4th March, 2016. The celebration would take place at Children Home, Fatasil Aambari, Guwahati from 10am onwards till 2pm.

Media can be an important partner in advancing the rights of children and adolescents. Media persons can play an effective role in protecting children’s rights and highlighting instances of exploitation and abuse. However, often journalists consider reporting on or engaging with children as an initiative which requires too much effort and legal hurdles. It may not necessarily be so. An informed media will be better able to play its role more effectively and challenge violations of child rights.

The Assam State Commission for Protection of Child Rights held two-days consultation on "Consultation on Child Rights, Media Ethics and Participation of Children in the Media" on 31st October and 1st November, 2015 at Kaziranga.
