"व्यक्ति को नहीं आदर्श को पूजो, मेरे बलिदान को मेरे जीवन से मत तोलो, मेरे देश की परम्पराओं से तोलो, मेरे पूर्वजों के शौर्य, पराक्रम और कीर्ति से तोलो। मेरी माँ के दूध की पवित्रता से तोलो, मेरे धर्म की महानता से तोलो। अगर मैं अपने बलिदान में इनसे घटिया पड़ूँ तो मेरे लिए प्रार्थना करो कि मैं बार बार जन्म लूँ और अपने बलिदानों को अपने राष्ट्र की इस कीर्ति कसौटी पर खरा उतरने में समर्थ बनाऊँ।"

"मेरे प्राणों का इतना मूल्य मत लगाओ, मेरे मन के संकल्पों को इतने अतिरंजित आदर की दृष्टि से मत देखो। मेरे शरीर को पूजा के थाल में इतना दुर्लभ फूल मत घोषित करो यह दरअसल कुछ नहीं हैं तुच्छ हैं निरर्थक है उस मिट्टी के सामने जिसे मैं मातृ भूमि कहता हूँ, जिसके एक कण की तुलना में तीन लोक का एक छत्र साम्राज्य भी मेरे लिए बेहद छोटा है।"

Every organ of our body and our mind is filled with only one feeling- we must serve our Hindu society. We are sure that we have the blessings of God. We are determined to work for the protection of our nation, our dharma and our culture. There is absolutely no fault or sin in the goal that we have kept in our mind.

Since our work is for the entire Hindu society, we should never neglect or oppress any member of the society. We must behave with equal affection to all Hindu brothers, without any feeling of inferiority or superiority.

Khudiram Bose was a freedom fighter, one of the youngest revolutionaries early in the independence movement of Bharat. At the time of his hanging, he was 18 years, 7 months 11 days old.It was this hero who threw the first bomb on the British who were crushing Bharat.

On the 26th of August 1907, when a case was going on, thousands of youths had gathered as usual before the court.They were silent, and created no trouble.However the Police started beating the young men with lathi. Sushilkumar Sen, a boy of fifteen, who was standing at a distance, could not bear the sight.He suddenly pounced on the Englishman and struck a powerful blow on the nose of the Englishman.Then policeman came up, arrested and took him to the court.The magistrate who conducted the trial was Kingsford, notorious for his cruelty. He mercilessly ordered a punishment of fifteen lashes.At every stroke, he cried 'Vande Mataram'!

The Vow of Revenge

Long before this the freedom fighter had thought of teaching a lesson to Kingsford, who was a monster in human form. The punishment, which he gave to Sushilkumar Sen, added to their fury. As long as Kings- ford lived, he was a menace to the patriots. Hence they decided to kill him.

In 1908, the revolutionaries made a plan to kill him.They selected Khurdiram and Profulla,another young boy. It was on the night of April 30, 1908 Khudiram and Profulla Chaki approached the European Club at Muzaffarpur, with a revolver and a bomb. They hid waiting for Kingsford to come out. They threw the bomb on the carriage. Without waiting to see what would happen next, Khudiram and Profulla fled in different directions.

Kingsford was not in the carriage but his wife and daughter were in it.A trial was carried out for two months on this Muzaffarpur bombing and other charges of bombing carried out by him. Khudiram was sentenced to death for the murder of women and children. The sentence was carried out, and he was hanged on August 11, 1908. Legend says that as he was hanged he was still smiling.

मुंशी प्रेमचंद भारत के उपन्यास सम्राट माने जाते हैं। वे एक सफल लेखक, देशभक्त नागरिक, कुशल वक्ता, ज़िम्मेदार संपादक और संवेदनशील रचनाकार थे।

ग़रीबी से लड़ते हुए प्रेमचन्द ने अपनी पढ़ाई मैट्रिक तक पहुँचाई। जीवन के आरंभ में ही इनको गाँव से दूर वाराणसी पढ़ने के लिए नंगे पाँव जाना पड़ता था। उन्होंने इलाहाबाद विश्वविद्यालय से अंग्रेज़ी साहित्य, पर्सियन और इतिहास विषयों से स्नातक की उपाधि द्वितीय श्रेणी में प्राप्त की थी। बाहर से बिल्कुल साधारण दिखने वाले प्रेमचन्द अन्दर से जीवनी-शक्ति के मालिक थे।

प्रेमचन्द ने शोषितवर्ग के लोगों को उठाने का हर संभव प्रयास किया। हिन्दी में प्रेमचंद की कहानियों का एक संग्रह बम्बई के एक सुप्रसिद्ध प्रकाशन गृह, हिन्दी ग्रन्थ-रत्नाकर ने प्रकाशित किया। यह संग्रह ‘नवनिधि’ शीर्षक से निकला और इसमें ‘राजा हरदौल’ और ‘रानी सारन्धा’ जैसी बुन्देल वीरता की सुप्रसिद्ध कहानियाँ शामिल थीं। उन्होंने गोदान जैसे कालजयी उपन्यास की रचना की जो कि एक आधुनिक क्लासिक माना जाता है। उन्हें अपने जीवन काल में ही उपन्यास सम्राट की पदवी मिल गयी थी। उन्होंने कुल 15 उपन्यास, 300 से कुछ अधिक कहानियाँ, 3 नाटक, 10 अनुवाद, 7 बाल-पुस्तकें तथा हज़ारों पृष्ठों के लेख, सम्पादकीय, भाषण, भूमिका, पत्र आदि की रचना की।

सन् 1931 के आरम्भ में ग़बन प्रकाशित हुआ था। 16 अप्रैल, 1931 को प्रेमचंद ने अपनी एक और महान रचना, कर्मभूमि शुरू की। यह अगस्त, 1932 में प्रकाशित हुई। प्रेमचंद के पत्रों के अनुसार सन् 1932 में ही वह अपना अन्तिम महान उपन्यास, गोदान लिखने में लग गये थे, यद्यपि ‘हंस’ और ‘जागरण’ से सम्बंधित अनेक कठिनाइयों के कारण इसका प्रकाशन जून, 1936 में ही सम्भव हो सका। अपनी अन्तिम बीमारी के दिनों में उन्होंने एक और उपन्यास, ‘मंगलसूत्र’, लिखना शुरू किया था, किन्तु अकाल मृत्यु के कारण यह अपूर्ण रह गया।

अमर शहीद ऊधम सिंह ने 13 अप्रैल, 1919 ई. को पंजाब में हुए भीषण जलियाँवाला बाग़ हत्याकांड के उत्तरदायी माइकल ओ'डायर की लंदन में हत्या कर निर्दोष भारतीयो की मौत का बदला लिया था।

अपने बयान में ऊधमसिंह ने कहा था- 'मैंने डायर को मारा, क्योंकि वह इसी के लायक़ था। मैंने ब्रिटिश राज्य में अपने देशवासियों की दुर्दशा देखी है। मेरा कर्तव्य था कि मैं देश के लिए कुछ करूं। मुझे मरने का डर नहीं है। देश के लिए कुछ करके जवानी में मरना चाहिए।'
