Named after the philanthropist, Master Jagannath Jhamb, who had moved to India at the time of partition

Master Ji, a generous soul, that has always been at the forefront of giving, in an effort to empower the less fortunate. He has dedicated his life for the betterment of those that society has shunned away. For Master Ji, simply being human is enough reason to help somebody. LJCT continues his legacy by donating to causes that help drive change from the ground level up. We believe in action rather

than words, and understand that all words fall on deaf ears until a human's basic requirements of food, water, shelter and sanitation are met. We empower those that have been left behind at society's edges, and pull them into the light of day. Walking the humanitarian path that Master Ji has laid out for us, we have named our program- Taanish, for there is enough goodness to explore in all of us.

When was the last time you sat beside an elder and just… listened?
Not out of duty. Not to take a selfie. Not to record a story for the ‘gram.
But to be present. Fully. Quietly. Respectfully.

At Taanish by LJCT, we’ve seen something incredible happen.
Young volunteers walk in thinking they’re here to “give time.”
And they do.
But they also walk out with stories that stay with them forever.
Stories of handwritten love letters, of black-and-white cinema, of fighting odds, of building homes with bare hands, and hearts that never gave up.

They arrive to serve tea.
And stay to hear about lives lived with grace, grit, and silent strength.

One of our volunteers once said,
"I came to help. But I stayed for the stories."
That’s the magic we witness every single day.

Because in a world rushing toward the future, sometimes the most powerful thing you can do… is sit down and learn from the past.

So the next time you're near an elder—pause. Listen. Ask.
There’s a universe in their memory, and wisdom in every wrinkle.
