Participated as a Key Note Speaker on behalf of AP BioDiversity Board in — “Sahaja Jeevan Vidhanam: Mainstreaming LiFE for a Regenerative Future in Andhra Pradesh” Summit in Vijayawada, Hyatt Hotel.

This summit was organised by CMS Vatavaran and Habitat Trust in association with Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change, Government of India, IUCN, UNEP, in collaboration with APSBB, APPCB and others

The two day summit - Andhra LiFE for Nature - acts as a platform to bring together diverse voices to reflect on how Andhra Pradesh can move forward on a development pathway that is both economically progressive and ecologically responsible.

The National Biodiversity Authority (NBA), has sanctioned a first instalment amount of ₹82 lakh to the Andhra Pradesh Biodiversity Board for the conservation of Red Sanders, according to the environment ministry.
This is only a part of the rechanellising of funds obtained from the ABS component of auctioning of Red Sanders at international level and seceral projects are in pipe line.
The funds are aimed at raising one lakh saplings of Red Sanders, which will subsequently be supplied to farmers, thereby contributing to the Trees Outside Forests (ToF) programme, and thus marking a significant step towards conserving a species unique to the region, the Ministry of Environment, Forest and Climate Change has said.

APSBB had its Board Meeting today in DV Manor Hotel, Vijaywada, conducted on a hybrid mode.
The Board presently comprises of Seven, Ex Officio Members, HODs of related departments, drafted by GoAP; The non official members to the Board, are yet to be given by the government. While some came physically, a few attended online.
The board discussed the action taken reports of last two years and approved the action plan to go forward, with sime suggestions.
Since the Board’s go ahead was received to most of our proposals, we can start working with renewed vigour.

AP Bio Diversity Board, (APSBB) as per the Act of Parliament, collects a small percentage fee of 0.5% from “Bio Resources Procurement Companies, Traders, Manufacturers and Exporters” as ‘Access Benefit Sharing Fee” (ABS)
As Marine Fisheries also comes under Bio Resources and since a few coastal States initiated the collection of ABS; the Andhra Pradesh Bio Diversity Board has also has come up with collection of ABS to conserve the ‘ Endangered and Vulnerable’ species and also to help the fishing community.
As a first step, a Research report in terms of data collection; availability of fish resources; state of affairs etc was completed through CMFRI - Central Marine Fisheries Research Institute.

During the Environment Day celebrations on 5th June, GoAP has announced the appointment of Sri. Anka Rao alias Jaji… as the ‘Advisor’ of the Forest Department

Even, earlyon, in the recent International Bio Diversity Day celebrations held in Vijayawada, Tummalapalli Kalakshetram, on 22nd May,2025 Andhra Pradesh State Biodiversity Board, has identified Sri Anka Rao and recognizing his services has falicitated him through Dy. CM, Pavan Kalyan garu as “ Bio Diversity Conservor’ of Andhra Pradesh.

Celebrated International Day for Biological Diversity - 2025: Shri Konidela Pawan Kalyan Gaaru, Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister of Andhra Pradesh has attend the program as Chief Guest.
Hon'ble Deputy Chief Minister has visited the stalls arranged by APSBB with various Departments and Organizations, patiently went through all the stalls, enquired with each of the species in the stalls and patiently gave all the awards on the stage.

He gave an extempore speech of almost 45 minutes on Biodiversity, the ways to conserve and the activities to be taken up. It was really sumptuous. We couldn’t have asked for more…!
It was great having you around today during our celebrations Sir.
