Guntur Municipal Corporation has launched Mission Mosquito to control the rising mosquito problem in the city using AI based drones. City Commissioner K Mayur Ashok said drones are being used to spray larvicide in 26 ponds and low lying areas covering about 174 acres. This method helps reach difficult areas where manual spraying is risky and less effective.

He added that regular fogging and anti larval activities will continue in all wards. The public is also advised to prevent water stagnation around their homes and follow a Dry Day every Friday by cleaning containers like tyres and flower pots to avoid diseases such as dengue malaria and chikungunya.
