SSG organised the Annual ‘Parents Teachers Meet’ (PTM) in the school auditorium on 11 Apr 26. The meeting was graced by Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal. Lt Col Pinaki Maulik, Vice Principal and Lt Cdr Avnish Sethi, Adm Officer were also present on the occasion.

The meeting commenced with a welcome address by Mr M K Barman, TGT. It was followed by two presentations i.e. ‘POCSO Act’ by Ms M Bhattacharya, the School Counselor and ‘Joining Defence Service’ by Dr S Deka, TGT.

The other highlights of the PTM included an interactive session followed by nomination of Mrs Bineeta Chetry, as the Parents Member for the Academic Session 2026–27.

In his address to the gathering, the Principal conveyed sincere appreciation to the parents for their support and active engagement with the school. He emphasised the necessity of being responsive to the changing needs of learners in a rapidly evolving world, and called upon the parents to work in close synergy with the school’s vision to foster holistic growth and shared success.

SSG organised a Staff Club Dinner on 10 Apr 26 to welcome its newly appointed Quarter Master, Mr Roshan Mishra, who joined the institution on 28 Mar 26. On behalf of the school fraternity, Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, accorded him a warm welcome by presenting a traditional Assamese 'gamosa' and conveyed best wishes for a successful and fulfilling tenure at the school. Prior to joining SSG, Mr Mishra served in the Indian Navy as a Pety Officer Aircraft Fitter (POAF) from 2004 to 2023, during which, he gained extensive professional experience and expertise. In his brief address, Mr Mishra expressed his heartfelt gratitude to the entire school fraternity for the warm reception and hospitality. He also affirmed his commitment to contributing meaningfully towards the efficient administration and continued progress of the school.

As part of “Ek Bharat Shreshtha Bharat (EBSB)” programme, the school organised a Debate Competition on the theme ‘Know the Geography of the Paired State (Rajasthan)’ on 07 Apr 26. A total of 12 cadets of Class IX participated in the competition that was coordinated by Mr R Sharma, PGT.

SSG organised an informative talk on ‘POCSO and Good Touch–Bad Touch’ during the school assembly on 10 Mar 26. The session was attended by the school faculty and the cadets, during which, the school counsellor, Ms Manoleena Bhattacharya, sensitised the attendees to the provisions of the POCSO Act and emphasised the importance of understanding personal safety, recognising appropriate and inappropriate touch and adopting preventive measures to ensure protection and well-being.

As a part of educational-cum-motivational tours organised by SSG, a total of 114 cadets from Class VII to X visited Manas National Park on 06 April 2026. The tour featured a thrilling jungle safari, during which the cadets had the opportunity to witness the park’s rich biodiversity in its natural habitat. The visit proved to be both enlightening and inspiring, helping the cadets develop a deeper understanding of the importance of conserving nature and maintaining ecological balance. The cadets were accompanied by Mr N Aich (PGT), Mr V Pandey (TGT), Mr Z Kinsto (TGT), Ms M Bhattacharya (Counselor) and Ms Jyotishmita (PTI-cum-Matron).

As a part of educational-cum-motivational tours organised by SSG, 50 cadets of Class IX visited Bharat Scouts and Guides (BSG), Pachmarhi (Madhya Pradesh) from 04 to 08 Apr 26. During the tour, the cadets visited Army Education Corps Centre (AEC) and various sites of tourist interest viz. Rajendra Giri, Bee Fall, Handi Khoh, Chauragarh, Bada Mahadev temple, Priyadarshini, Pandava Caves and Jata Shankar. The cadets also participated in adventure and sports activities viz. zip line, valley crossing, sky cycling, boating, rock climbing & reppelling, shooting and archery. The trip concluded with a closing ceremony organised by BSG. The cadets were escorted by Mr P Chaudhary (TGT), Mrs R Yasmin (TGT) and Hav Dibya Shrestha, NCO.

SSG organised an informative talk on ‘Health and Sanitation’ on 04 Apr 26. During the session, Dr Satyajit Chakraborty, the School Medical Officer, sensitised the cadets to the significance of maintaining personal hygiene and highlighted essential preventive measures against various communicable diseases.

SSG organised a ‘Self Defence’ training session for girl cadets of the school on 04 Apr 26. During the session, Hav Sundarji, PTI, demonstrated various self-defence techniques and actively engaged a total of 30 girl cadets in the training, equipping them with essential skills for personal safety and confidence.

The Defence Institute of Psychological Research (DIPR), a premier lab under DRDO, Ministry of Defence, conducted a psychological study among cadets of SSG from Class IX to XII on 01 Apr 26. The cadets were provided with structured questionnaires to explore their personality traits, values and attitudes towards technology. The research aims to map the personality profile of the contemporary generation.

A total of 67 cadets of Class XII (Session 2025-26) of 27 Assam Sainik School (Coy) JD NCC appeared in NCC ‘B’ Certificate Examination held at Golakganj, Dhubri on 29 Mar 26. The exam was conducted by 7 Assam Battalion NCC, Dhubri. Mr M K Barman, ANO coordinated the procedures for team SSG under the guidance of Lt Col Pinaki Maulik, Officer Commanding, 27 Assam Sainik School (Coy) JD NCC.
