SSG made its presence felt at the IPSC Model United Nations (MUN) 2026, held at Birla Vidya Mandir, Nainital (Uttarakhand) from 07 to 09 Sep 26, with a team of eight enthusiastic members of the SSG MUN Club participating in the prestigious conference.
The SSG delegates represented various committees and portfolios, including AIPPM, UNGA, UNSC, DISEC and WHO, with portfolios such as Conrad K Sangma, Hemant Soren, The Federal Republic of Nigeria, Kingdom of Cambodia, Arab Republic of Egypt, Ukraine, Lao People’s Democratic Republic and People's Republic of Bangladesh.
The delegation brought laurels to the school with commendable individual performances. Cadet Kaushik Das (X) was adjudged the ‘Most Promising Delegate’ whereas, Cadet Jwngsar Goyary (XI) and Cadet Shubham Kumar (X) received the ‘Best Verbal Mention’ awards. The conference witnessed participation from 13 IPSC schools from different parts of the country.
Beyond the conference, the team also explored the scenic beauty of Nainital. The team was escorted by Mr P K Adhikary, PGT and Ms Meher F Ahmed, TGT.

The school observed 'Srimanta Sankardev Tithi' with solemnity and devotion on 12 Sep 26. The occasion was graced by Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, along with Lt Col Pinaki Maulik, Vice Principal, and Lt Cdr Avnish Sethi, Adm Officer. Cdt Rajnish Haloi (Class XI) delivered an insightful speech highlighting the life, teachings and enduring contributions of Srimanta Sankardev, the revered saint, philosopher and cultural icon of Assam. Besides, the school cultural team presented soulful renditions of 'Borgeet' and 'Naam Kirtan', creating a serene and spiritually uplifting ambience. The programme was attended by all staff members and cadets of the school. In his address, the Principal paid rich tribute to Srimanta Sankardev and highlighted the enduring relevance of his teachings of devotion, harmony and social equality. The event was coordinated by Dr S Deka, TGT and Mr M K Barman, TGT.

The school hosted a staff club dinner on 11 Sep 26 to welcome six staff members who joined the SSG family recently. The new members include Dr Arindam Kalita, Medical Officer, Ms Shraddha Sarkar, TGT (English), Mr Ram Vijaykumar Ramesh, TGT (Computer Science), Mr Rohit Kumar, Librarian, Hav Kamal Pun, NCO and Mr Saddam Hussain, Lab Attendant. On behalf of the SSG fraternity, Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, extended a heartfelt welcome to all the new members and wished them a fulfilling and success during their tenure at the school.

SSG hosted a staff club dinner to bid farewell to its outgoing NCC staff, Hav C B Thapa, NCO, on 11 Sep 26. Hav Thapa joined the school as an NCO, 27 Assam Sainik School NCC (JD) Coy on 01 Nov 2024. He rendered valuable service to the school by conducting various training activities and imparting discipline in cadets of the school. He also contributed towards efficient management of the CSD in the school. Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, felicitated Hav Thapa with a traditional Assamese ‘gamosa’, ‘xorai’ and a school memento as a token of appreciation for his dedicated service to the school. In his address, Hav Thapa expressed his gratitude to the school fraternity for making his tenure a memorable one. SSG wishes Hav C B Thapa a prosperous life and success in his future endeavours.

As part of the 'Ek Bharat Shrestha Bharat' intiative, SSG organised a 'Poetry Recitation' programme on 08 Sep 26. A total of 56 cadets from Classes VII & VIII took part in the activity, showcasing their talent in recitation. The event was coordinated by Dr D P Mishra, TGT.

SSG celebrated Teachers' Day with great enthusiasm. The celebrations commenced with a friendly cricket match between the Principal's XI and the cadets of Class XII. It was followed by a special assembly. Col D K Vishwakarma, Principal, lit the ceremonial lamp and extended his greetings to the school faculty on the auspicious occasion. He also felicitated them with tokens of appreciation for their dedicated service to the school.
In a heartwarming gesture, the cadets of Class XII felicitated the officers and members of the academic, training and administrative staff. The celebrations also included a cake-cutting ceremony and a high tea. Later, a regimental lunch was organised at the Cadets' Mess in honour of the faculty.
