On the occasion of World Environment Day 2026, a series of activities were undertaken across Goalpara District under the *Swachh Gaon, Suraksh*t Jalvayu (SGSJ) Campaign*. Special Gram Sabhas were organized in various Gram Panchayats to raise awareness on the implementation of SWM Rules, 2026, environmental conservation, sustainability of drinking water schemes, source segregation of waste, and the significance of user tariff collection for ensuring effective operation, maintenance, and long-term sustainability of community assets.

As part of the campaign, plantation drives under the theme *"Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam"* and cleanliness drives were conducted across different Gram Panchayats. PRI members, GP functionaries, frontline workers, and local residents actively participated in these initiatives, demonstrating their collective commitment to environmental protection and fostering a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable rural ecosystem.

As part of the **"Swacch Gaon, Suraksh*t Jalvayu" Campaign** being observed on **World Environment Day 2026**, various Day-4 activities were successfully carried out across Goalpara District. These included awareness generation programmes, cleanliness drives, plantation activities, and other initiatives aimed at promoting environmental sustainability and community participation.

In context of SGSJ"স্বচ্ছ সেউজ জিন্ জিৰাম প্ৰবাহিনী" an initiative of SBM-G Goalpara District launched today to implement "No Dumping in river Jinjhiram river". The programme is graced by presence of Hon'ble MLA 13 Goalpara West LAC, Sjt. Pabitra Rabha and repsected DC Goalpara Sjt Prodip Timung. Also attended by CDC Nabajit Pathak, EE Water Resource, EE Goalpara ZP, BDO Balijana Dev. *Day 3 Report- Swachh Gaon, Suraksh*t Jalvayu Campaign*

As part of the *World Environment Day 2026* campaign, Gram Panchayat functionaries and the PHED team of Goalpara District carried out the identification and listing of Bulk Waste Generators (BWGs) across various Gram Panchayats. The activity aimed to strengthen Solid Waste Management systems by mapping institutions, commercial establishments, markets, and other entities generating significant quantities of waste. The exercise will facilitate better planning, monitoring, and implementation of waste management measures in accordance with the Solid Waste Management Rules, while promoting environmental responsibility and sustainable waste disposal practices throughout the district.

On the occasion of Menstrual Hygiene Day, a Menstrual Hygiene Management (MHM) Awareness Session was successfully conducted at Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Lakhipur in the presence of the Medical Officer, Staff Nurse, and CDPO of Lakhipur, along with the ASHA Supervisor and the District Coordinator from UNICEF India. The programme focused on raising awareness about safe menstrual hygiene practices, promoting menstrual health, and breaking the stigma and misconceptions associated with menstruation. Participants actively took part in the session and pledged under the Red Dot Campaign to advocate for menstrual hygiene and awareness within their communities. As part of the initiative, an MHM Corner was also set up at the school with the support of the teachers of Kasturba Gandhi Balika Vidyalaya Lakhipur and UNICEF India, creating a dedicated space for menstrual health education, awareness, and access to essential hygiene information and resources.
