ঝাড়খণ্ডের বাংলাভাষী মানুষের মাতৃভাষা ও বাংলাভাষা শিক্ষার অধিকার রক্ষার দাবিতে ১০ আগস্ট ২০২৬, রাঁচির কুটে ময়দানে ঝাড়খণ্ড বাংলাভাষী উন্নয়ন সমিতির আহ্বানে একদিনের গণঅবস্থান অনুষ্ঠিত হয়।
ছাত্র, শিক্ষক, সামাজিক সংগঠন ও বিশিষ্টজনেরা বাংলাকে বঞ্চনা ও অবহেলার হাত থেকে রক্ষা করার দাবিতে সরব হন। বক্তারা বলেন, ঝাড়খণ্ড গঠনে বাংলাভাষীদের গুরুত্বপূর্ণ অবদান থাকলেও আজও বাংলা একাডেমি নেই, স্কুলে পর্যাপ্ত বাংলা বই নেই এবং উচ্চশিক্ষায় বাংলা বিভাগ বন্ধ করা হচ্ছে।
গণঅবস্থান থেকে দুটি প্রধান দাবি জানানো হয়—
১. অবিলম্বে বাংলা একাডেমি স্থাপন।
২. উচ্চশিক্ষায় বন্ধ হওয়া বাংলা বিভাগগুলি পুনরায় চালু করা।
শেষে মুখ্যমন্ত্রীর উদ্দেশ্যে স্মারকলিপি প্রদান করা হয়। বাংলাভাষায় শিক্ষার অধিকার ও মাতৃভাষার মর্যাদা প্রতিষ্ঠা না হওয়া পর্যন্ত এই লড়াই চলবে।

On 10 August 2026, a one-day mass sit-in was organised at Kute Maidan, Ranchi, near the Jharkhand Legislative Assembly, under the call of the Jharkhand Bengali-speaking Development Committee.
Students, teachers, social organisations and intellectuals came together to demand the protection of the Bengali language and the right to Bengali-medium education in Jharkhand.
The key demands were:
1. Immediate establishment of a Bengali Academy in Jharkhand.
2. Reopening of Bengali departments in higher education.
A memorandum addressed to the Hon’ble Chief Minister was submitted to the concerned government official.
The struggle to protect our mother tongue and the right to Bengali education will continue until justice is achieved.
