Yesterday the Chairman and his team of Board of Directors of Gandhinagar Cooperative Milk Producers 'Union, Gujarat paid visit to Gangtok Dairy Plant and then interacted with the officials of Sikkim Milk Union in its Conference Hall. In a very short and concise power point presentation Shri S.K Pradhan, GM(HO) explained about Sikkim Milk Union and its activities. The visitors were all praise for the kind of work being carried out by Sikkim Milk Union for the weaker section of the people in the State of Sikkim inspite of difficult terrain.

In spite of increased milk procurement it is not matching with sudden surge in demand of milk and milk products in the urban centres resulting in shortages thereby causing great inconvenience to our esteemed consumers. We deeply regret for the inconvenience and trying our best to make up the deficit by increasing the number of societies in the villages besides providing interest free cow loans to producer members of milk cooperatives. So, till the gap is filled we request all concerned to kindly bear with us.

Last week this time all Sikkimilk Family were busy preparing for celebration of 'National Milk Day' celebration at Manan Kendra, Gangtok in which Hon'nle Chief Minister of Sikkim, Dr. Pawan Chamling was to grace the occasion as hief Guest. The event was jointly organised by the Sikkim Milk Union and the National Cooperative Dairy Federation of India, whose Chairman, incidentally is the Vice Chairman of Sikkim Milk Union, Shri Mangaljit Rai.

One day awareness programme on Clean milk Production was today organised by consortium of societies under yangang subdivision. The programme had the presence of chairman Sikkim Milk Union
Shri. M.B.Rai. Zilla Adakshya South district Shri. C.L. Gurung, Advisor Commerce and Industries Smt. Kumari Manger, Social Worker Shri.P.M. Chamling.
Where various aspects about dairy animal Management. Clean milk practices were highlighted to the farmers.
Inorder to avoid curdling of milk during summer season rangang yangang society was also presented with 500 ltr deep freeze whose present collection is 100 litres of milk daily.

The Present M.D. will join office back after his election observor duty on 20th Feb and will be in office for last couple of days to finish pending works. The incumbent MD Sh. Ragul K., IAS will be taking charge from Sh. Kapil Meena, IAS on 23rd Feb probably. The transferred MD has extended his gratitude to the complete team of officers, staff of SMU and to all related agencies who helped his m in taking new initiatives and maintaining the phenomenal growth story of this organisation.
