A Landmark Milestone for Dzongu: Inauguration of Aadhar Card Enrolment Centre
Dzongu, North Sikkim (25/06/2025)- In a momentous stride toward inclusive governance and citizen-centric service delivery, Dzongu has witnessed the long-awaited establishment of its own Aadhar Card Enrolment Centre, a landmark achievement that addresses a critical need of the region. This transformational development marks the end of years of relentless hardship borne by the resilient people of Dzongu, who were compelled to travel to distant locations like Mangan and beyond even for the most basic Aadhar-related services.
Given Dzongu’s rugged terrain and geographically challenging landscape, access to such essential services had remained a daunting task. The absence of a local enrolment facility posed substantial obstacles for the public, particularly considering that the Aadhar Card serves as a vital gateway for availing numerous Central and State-sponsored welfare schemes. The operationalisation of this centre will not only eliminate logistical burdens but will also lead to significant savings in time, energy, and financial resources for the local populace.
This landmark initiative has been realised under the visionary and empathetic leadership of the Honourable Chief Minister, Shri Prem Singh Tamang (Golay), whose unwavering commitment to inclusive development continues to reshape the socio-economic landscape of rural Sikkim. His deep concern for the welfare of the poor, marginalised, and geographically isolated communities has consistently translated into meaningful actions on the ground.
The establishment of the Aadhar Card Enrolment Centre in Dzongu is a shining example of his sincerest efforts to bridge the rural-urban service gap, ensuring that even the remotest citizens are not left behind in the march towards progress. The inauguration ceremony was graced by the Honourable MLA-cum-Minister Shri Pintso Namgyal Lepcha, as Chief Guest. A beacon of inspiration, his presence reaffirms the government’s resolve to uplift and empower even the most remote constituencies.
