Today, on the historic occasion of Kargil Vijay Diwas, I am honoured to inaugurate the State Sainik Board Building and Sainik Rest House, dedicated to the welfare of our ex-servicemen. With over 1,800 ex-servicemen and 5,000 serving soldiers from Sikkim, this state has a proud tradition of patriotism and service to the nation.
This facility is a symbol of our gratitude and will serve as a one-stop centre for the welfare of ex-servicemen and their families, providing support in areas such as pensions, healthcare, education, and employment. I also hope it becomes a place of guidance and encouragement for our youth, inspiring future generations with the values of patriotism, discipline, and leadership.
I also hope this building will provide a welcoming space for our brave soldiers, veterans, Veer Naris, and the families of our martyrs to share their concerns, receive support, and remain connected with one another.
Beyond its administrative role, I believe this centre can evolve into a hub for inspiring and mentoring our younger generation. The experience, discipline, leadership, and values of our veterans are invaluable assets for society. I encourage our ex-servicemen to continue guiding our youth, nurturing in them the spirit of patriotism, integrity, discipline, and selfless service to the nation.
With great pride and sincere gratitude, I dedicate this building to the service of our ex-servicemen, their families, and the people of Sikkim.
I sincerely thank everyone who contributed to the construction of this building and dedicate it to the service of our people.
