Urgent Information to the Public from Transport Department
The Transport Department reminds all citizens that the One Time Settlement Scheme (OTSS), offered vide Notification Memo No. 24/GOS/SECY/MVD/2025 dated 31.07.2025, will expire on 31.08.2025. With only 2 days remaining, all vehicle owners with pending fines are strongly advised to avail this opportunity and make payments without any further delay.
Vehicle owners can easily check their pending fines by visiting the official portal: www.challan.sntd.in and entering their vehicle number.
To ensure smooth facilitation, all RTO offices across Sikkim will remain open on 31.08.2025 (Sunday), and all MVIs will be on duty to support and assist citizens in settling their dues.
The Department cautions that non-payment of fines will lead to seizure of documents and impounding of vehicles.
Any owner who believes they had valid documents at the date and time of challan issuance may visit the AI office or respective RTO office to apply for removal of dues.
All vehicle owners are strictly required to ensure that the registered mobile number associated with their vehicle is valid and updated. Invalid or outdated numbers will not be accepted as an excuse for missing the payment deadline or for failing to receive notifications from the Transport Department.
For assistance, citizens may contact the following helpline numbers:
9364008120 / 6364559436
The Transport Department urges all citizens to take immediate action and clear their fines before the deadline.
