The Denzong Agricultural Cooperative Society Ltd. (DACS), during its 17th Annual General Meeting held on 28th May 2026 at Gangtok, conducted the election to the Board of Directors of DACS under the provisions of the Sikkim Cooperative Societies Act, 1978 and the Bye-Laws of the Society.

The entire election procedure was conducted by the Returning Officer appointed by the Registrar of Cooperative Societies, Government of Sikkim, as per the office order issued and in due compliance with the prescribed election norms and procedures.

Since only one valid nomination was received from each territory, all seven candidates were declared elected unopposed to the Board of Directors of DACS. The formal declaration of results was made during the AGM held in the presence of the Hon’ble MLA and Chairman of DACS, Shri Satish Chandra Rai.

The Board of Directors of DACS, as elected, shall comprise the following members:

1. Ms. Tashi Doma Bhutia, Penlong MPCS Ltd., Gangtok

2. Ms. Geeta Bista Chettri, Rhenock Tarpin Poultry Growers Cooperative Society Ltd., Pakyong

3. ⁠Shri Loden Gyatso Lepcha, Passingdong MPCS Ltd., Mangan

4. ⁠Shri Prem Tshering Tamang, Sadam Turuk Paiyong Poultry Growers Cooperative Society Ltd., Namchi

5. ⁠Ms. Sanu Bhutia, Tashiding MPCS Ltd., Gyalshing

6. ⁠Shri Suren Rai, Chakung MPCS Ltd., Soreng

7. ⁠Shri Bishnu Kumar Chettri, Rabong Sangmoo MPCS Ltd., Ravangla

The Sikkim State Cooperative Bank Ltd. Bank in its Special General Body Meeting dated 25th May 2026, held election to the Board of Directors of SISCO Bank Ltd under the Section 34(1) of Sikkim Cooperative Societies Act 1978. This will be the 5th Board of the Apex Cooperative Bank in Sikkim.

The entire election procedure was conducted by Returning Officer so appointed by Registrar of Cooperative Societies Sikkim vide o.o. No. 506/Coop/2026 dated 23/04/2026.

The election process was spread over 24 days starting with filling of nomination for 9 territories demarcated as per the bye laws of the Bank, scrutiny of nomination papers, declaration of final list of contesting candidates and conduct of secret ballot voting procedure.

Accordingly voting was to be conducted for 3 territories and results of the election was declared on the same day.

The 5th BOD of the SISCO Bank Ltd ,as elected , shall comprises as follows:

Gyalshing District.

The Annual General Meeting of Rimbi Timbrong MPCS (M-PACS) was conducted on 18th May 2026 at the society premises.

The meeting was presided over by the President of the Society, Shri Anita Bdr Limboo, in the presence of all Committee Members, members of the society, Panchayat President Shri Mangal Rai, Panchayat Members, Department officials, and the Manager of the Society.

Following points were discussed and passed during the AGM:

* The society resolved to take up CSC activities and marketing of hill broom and ginger in order to diversify its activities and strengthen the society economically.
* The society decided to purchase SIMFED shares amounting to ₹5,000/-.
* As part of the membership drive, the society will hold a meeting with Rimbi Milk PCs and facilitate the enrolment of all 33 members of the Milk PCs as members of the M-PACS.
* Further, the meeting decided to facilitate the transfer of 43 members residing in the newly created Rimbi–Timbrong GPU from Melli–Rimbi MPCS to the society.

The meeting concluded with fruitful discussions and active participation from all members present, reflecting the society’s commitment towards strengthening cooperative activities at the grassroots level.

Gangtok,13th May:

At the chamber of the Honourable Chairman cm MLA- Tumin Lingee constituency,Shri Samdup Bhutia, the Products of Rakdong Tintek MPCS ltd was officially launched.

The products developed under the banner of PMVDY includes dehydrated Beet root and Carrots and Beet root and Carrot powders. The chips and powders can be used for smoothies, soups and baking.

These products will be readily available very soon at "THEE LOCAL SHELF" at rising Shopping complex at Lal bazar terrace.

RCS Gangtok -Shri BPH S***a along with ARCS and Cooperative Inspector were also present during the function.

11th Executive Committee Meeting of SICUN Held

The 11th Executive Committee Meeting of the Sikkim State Cooperative Union (SICUN) was held on 12th May 2026 at the Conference Hall of SICUN under the chairmanship of Dr. Mangal Jit Rai, Hon’ble Chairman, SICUN.

The meeting was attended by Shri P.P. Sharma, Vice Chairman; Shri H.B. Gurung, Executive Director; Shri P.T. Lepcha, Additional Registrar, Cooperation Department, Head Office and Shri Sailesh Rai, Executive Officer, SICUN.

During the meeting, important agenda items relating to the functioning and administration of SICUN were discussed, including confirmation of previous meeting minutes, action taken reports, change of authorized signatory in SICUN bank accounts, Hostel Mess Memorandum of Understanding (MoU), programme affiliation granted by Tribhuvan Sahakari University, dissolution of the SICUN Employees’ Welfare Fund, delegation for the upcoming NCUI election, membership of NAFCOF, New Delhi and review of the HR Policy.

The meeting concluded with fruitful discussions and resolutions for the effective functioning and strengthening of the Union.
