The 18th Raising Day of the Battalion and 50th Year of Statehood Celebrations was held at the 2nd IRBn HQs Pipalay on 31/032025. The Occasion was graced by the HCM as the Chief guest and was hosted by the DGP/Sikkim. The early morning programme had attendence from representatives from all branches of Sikkim Police, and various government officials and local dignitaries.
In the First part of the Program, the HCM was welcomed with guard of Honour and performance by Police Band party. Starting with a Sarva Dharma devotional song, the first part of program had various drills and displays by 2nd IRBn personnel. The HCM, The DGP and CO/2nd IRBn addressed the gathering. The first part of the program ended with a sumptuous breakfast/ pre-lunch .
After Departure of HCM on conclusion of first part of program, the 2nd Part of program started at pre-noon, with DGP/ Sikkim as the chief guest. With cultural programmes galore, from our IRBn personnel and students from various schools. The show turned livelier and more interesting with participation from audience with DGP's encouragements.
After a sumptuous lunch, there was final match of the Open Football Tournament played between Brotherhood FC and Karfektar FC. The former won in a tie breaker in a nail biting finish . And with it concluded the 2nd part of the program.
The 3rd part of the program was the Musical Nite which had great guest artists from Sikkim like Pritam Rai, Riwaz Gurung, Ditika Pradhan, Sushma Tamang, etc. The DGP sir regaled the audience with his lively performance, with one popular Hindi and another foot-tapping Nepali number. The gathering was decent, and the programme was a grand success and concluded around 2130 hours.
We, the CO and all ranks of IRBn Pipalay express heartful gratitude to DGP and IGP/AP sirs for overseeing the preparation and providing their insightful advice to make the program a success. And we thank all officers and personnel from different branches of Sikkim Police for attending the program and making it a success.
