We had the distinct honour of welcoming H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi, Ambassador of Japan to India, along with a high-level delegation of over 60 distinguished members to Dholera – India’s first Semicon City.
The two day engagement commenced with a warm and insightful dinner hosted by JBIC, where presentations and exchanges were held in the presence of eminent speakers including H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi, Ms. Mona Khandhar, Principal Secretary, DST, Mr. Rajat Saini, CEO & MD, NICDC, Mr. Rajkumar Beniwal, CEO, DSIRDA along with leadership from JBIC, JETRO and TATA. These conversations laid the foundation for deeper engagement and mutual cooperation between India and Japan in the smart infrastructure and semiconductor space.
The following day, the delegation embarked on a comprehensive tour of Dholera’s state-of-the-art infrastructure. The visits included discussions at Water Treatment Plant, Canal Front Development, Power Substation, the Command and Control Centre (CIOC), and the Experience Centre at the ABCD Building - witnessing firsthand the scale, planning, and future-readiness of Dholera.
A key highlight was their visit to the upcoming TATA Semiconductor Fabrication Plant, where an engaging and forward-looking discussion was held with TATA officials on the roadmap for India’s semiconductor ecosystem.
As part of the visit, H.E. Mr. Ono Keiichi also inaugurated the AJU Cafeteria at the ABCD Building, Dholera - a symbolic step toward cultural integration and hospitality.
We sincerely thank JBIC and JETRO for their continued collaboration and commitment. Dholera SIR remains committed to strengthening India–Japan ties through shared ambition, innovation, and infrastructure-led partnerships.
