On the directions of Worthy District Child Protection officer Mr. Bashir Ahamd Malik (JKAS), an awareness program was conducted ( dated 11/12/2024) on Juvenile Justice ( care and protection of children)Act 2015 , POCSO Act 2012 and Child Rights at KGBV School Gutlibabag Ganderbal by Department of Mission Vatsalya ( Social Welfare) Ganderbal institution
Units participated;-
Chaiperson Child Welfare committee ganderbal ,officials from District Child Protection Unit (DCPU) officials, Child Helpline(1098) Gbl, locals of the area and Students of the said institution.

Principal Magistrate Juvenile Justice Board Ganderbal Ms Farah Bashir(JMIC) along with Legal Cum probationary officer of Juvenile justice board Ms Sameena Anjum conducted a surprise visit to police station Ganderbal

The surprise visit aims at to inquire any alleged minors in lock up ,the visit is a part of promoting childs rights

The team also interacted With concerned S.H.O and other senior officers of the Station ,discussed many issues Regarding alleged minors and collected the data of overall challans and FIRs,at the end of the day the team discussed about alleged child in conflict with law and victim of cases under Juvenile Justice system /Act 2015

They also visited the palash(Boys) and pareesha s(Girls)' to inspect the structural infrastructure and facilities inside these palash and pareeshas'
Along With inspection they also interacted With childrens and expressed deep love and affection With them.

The surprise inspections will continue for the proper implementation of Juvenile Justice System in a district.

Anti-Beggary and Children in Street Situations drive conducted by Social Welfare Department Ganderbal

GANDERBAL, NOVEMBER 14: In a determined effort to address the issues of child begging and children in street situations, Mission Vatsalya, under the Social Welfare Department, conducted a comprehensive drive from Dudarhama to Nagbal.

This initiative, directed by the District Child Protection Officer, Bashir Ahmad Malik , highlights the ongoing commitment to safeguarding the rights and welfare of vulnerable children in Ganderbal.

The drive witnessed active participation from various units, including the Child Welfare Committee (CWC) Ganderbal, officials from the District Child Protection Unit (DCPU), representatives from the Special Juvenile Police Unit (SJPU), and the Child Helpline (1098) team in Ganderbal.

Each unit contributed vital support and expertise, working in coordination to identify and assist children in need of care and protection.

During the drive, the teams engaged with the local community to raise awareness about the importance of protecting children from exploitative situations and ensuring their right to a safe and nurturing environment.

District Child Protection Officer, emphasized the department's commitment to continuing such drives to address the issues of child begging and street situations.

The Department of Mission Vatsalya extends its gratitude to all participants and community members for their cooperation and support in this noble endeavor.
