GANDERBAL POLICE ARRESTS ONE MORE DRUG PEDDLER IN SAFAPORA; CONTRABAND SUBSTANCE RECOVERED.

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan,” Ganderbal Police apprehended one more drug peddler during a surprise naka established by Police Station Safapora at Chesmai Manasbal.

During checking, a suspicious individual identified as; Asif Ahmed Kaloo S/o Ghulam Nabi Kaloo R/o Hilal Abad Nesbal, Naninara, Sumbal was apprehended. Upon his personal search, heroin-like substance was recovered from his possession.

In this regard, Case FIR No. 13/2026, under relevant Sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Safapora and investigation has been taken up.

GANDERBAL POLICE APPREHENDS DRUG PEDDLER; CONTRABAND SUBSTANCE RECOVERED.

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan, Ganderbal Police apprehended a drug peddler during a surprise naka checking at Baghpati Surfraw in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund.

During checking, a youth moving suspiciously from Surfraw towards Ganiwan was tactfully intercepted and subjected to search. During the search, a charas-like substance was recovered from his possession & the accused who disclosed his identity as; Abid Ahmad Lone S/O Javid Ahmad Lone R/O Surfraw was arrested on the spot.

Accordingly, FIR No.16/2026 under sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gund, and investigation into the case has been taken up.

GANDERBAL POLICE ACCORDS FAREWELL TO RETIRING SUB INSPECTOR.

Ganderbal Police organised a warm farewell function at DPO Ganderbal to honour a Sub Inspector on his superannuation.

SSP Ganderbal, Shri Sudhanshu Dhama-IPS, along with Dy.SP Hqr's Ganderbal Shri Umar Urfan-JKPS, Dy.SP DAR Shri Altaf Khan-JKPS and staff, appreciated the retiring officer's dedicated and exemplary service to the J&K Police and extended their best wishes for a happy, healthy, and fulfilling post-retirement life.

GANDERBAL POLICE BUSTS ONE MORE ILLICIT POPPY CULTIVATION IN ARIGORIPORA; CASE REGISTERED AT PS KANGAN.

In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of narcotics and achieve the vision of a Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir under the ongoing “Nasha-Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan,” Ganderbal Police detected and destroyed an illicit poppy cultivation during routine patrolling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Kangan.

During the patrolling operation, police personnel noticed a patch of land cultivated with poppy plants at Arigoripora. Acting promptly, the police team destroyed the illicit cultivation on the spot and the said land was found to be in possession of Jameel Ahmad Sheikh S/O Jaleel Ahmad Sheikh R/O New Colony Arigoripora.

Accordingly, Case FIR No. 46/2026 under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kangan, and further investigation has been taken up.

Continuing its sustained drive against drug trafficking under the “Nasha Mukt Jammu & Kashmir Abhiyan”, Ganderbal Police apprehended one more drug peddler during naka checking at Nagpow, Tulmullah.

During checking, a person coming from Kurag towards Tulmullah attempted to flee on noticing the police naka. Acting swiftly, the police party apprehended the suspect and conducted his search, leading to the recovery of approximately 11.10 grams of heroin-like substance from his possession. The accused has been identified as Aubaid Ahmad Dar @ Ubi S/o Habibullah Dar R/o Nowpora, Tulmullah.

In this regard, FIR No. 16/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Kheerbhawani, and further investigation has been taken up.

Continuing its sustained efforts against the menace of drugs, Ganderbal Police apprehended a drug peddler during routine naka checking conducted by Police Station Safapora at Puttarmulla Safapora near Daller Mode, Manasbal.

During checking, a suspicious individual attempted to flee on noticing the police party. The alert police party acted promptly and apprehended him on the spot. He was identified as; Salim Ahmad Bhat S/O Ghulam Mohammad Bhat R/O Kondbal Safapora.

During his personal search, approximately 04 grams of heroin-like substance and 20 grams of charas-like substance were recovered from his possession. Accordingly, FIR No. 11/2026 under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Safapora, and further investigation is underway.

In its continued efforts to eradicate the menace of narcotics and achieve the vision of a Drug-Free Jammu and Kashmir under the ongoing “Nasha-Mukt Jammu and Kashmir Abhiyan,” Ganderbal Police detected and destroyed one more illicit poppy cultivation during routine patrolling in the jurisdiction of Police Station Gund.

During the patrolling operation, police personnel noticed a patch of land cultivated with poppy plants. Acting promptly, the police team destroyed the illicit cultivation on the spot and initiated legal proceedings.
Accordingly, a Case FIR No.15/2026, under the relevant provisions of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Gund, and investigation has been taken up to identify all persons involved in the illegal cultivation and ascertain further links, if any.

The public is urged to cooperate with the police and share any information regarding drug-related activities so that collective efforts can help build a safer, healthier, and drug-free society.

Continuing its sustained drive against drug menace under , Ganderbal Police apprehended a drug peddler and recovered contraband substance from his possession in the jurisdiction of Police Post Nagbal.

A snap naka was established by Police Post Nagbal at Dignibal near the Old Water Supply Scheme, Bakura. During naka checking, one suspicious person attempted to flee after noticing the police party. Acting swiftly, the naka party apprehended him on the spot.

The accused has been identified as; Abrar Ahmad Parray S/O Mohd Ismail Parray R/O Nagbal Ganderbal. During his personal search, bhung patri powder (ganja-like substance) was recovered from his possession. Accordingly, a case under relevant sections of the NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Ganderbal and further investigation has been taken up.

Continuing its crackdown against drug-related activities, Ganderbal Police detected and destroyed an illicit Poppy Cultivation during routine patrolling in village Wandhama, under the jurisdiction of Police Station Lar.

During the operation, a patch of land was found cultivated with poppy straw-like plants. Preliminary enquiry revealed that the land was in possession of Muzaffar Ahmad Koul S/O Abdul Gaffar Koul, R/O Wandhama, who had allegedly cultivated the Contraband Crop.

Accordingly, a Case FIR No.16/2026, under relevant sections of the NDPS Act stands registered at Police Station Lar, and further investigation is underway.
