Subject: Urgent Complaint: Heavily Contaminated Tap Water Supply and Rising Health Hazards in Manigam, Ganderbal
To
The Executive Engineer, Jal Shakti (PHE) Department, Rural Water Supply Division Ganderbal
Respected Authorities,
We, the residents of Manigam, wish to bring to your immediate attention the highly alarming and hazardous condition of the tap water being supplied to our households.
As documented in the attached images, the water flowing from our taps is extremely muddy, heavily discolored, and thick with visible sediment. This is completely unfiltered raw water, making it entirely unfit for drinking, cooking, or any domestic utility.
Due to the continuous supply of this highly turbid and contaminated water, there is a serious and rapid rise in waterborne illnesses across the locality
The current status of the official tap water network poses a direct threat to public health. We are deeply concerned that if immediate corrective measures are not taken, this could trigger a severe health epidemic in the community.
We earnestly request the concerned departments to:
1. Investigate Immediately: Identify the breach, pipeline damage, or filtration failure causing mud to enter the main supply lines of Manigam.
2. Ensure Safe Supply: Restore clean, chemically treated, and properly filtered potable water to the area at the earliest.
3. Deploy Alternatives: Arrange for clean drinking water tankers to serve the affected neighborhoods in Manigam until the tap water quality is fully restored.
We hope for swift intervention to prevent further spread of disease and to secure the basic right to clean drinking water for the residents.
Sincerely,
The Residents of Manigam, Ganderbal
