REPORT – JANMASHTMI
Krishna Janmashtmi celebrations took place at DPS World School, Gurgaon on 24th Aug.2016. A wonderful assembly was held wherein the students dressed up at Gwal Bals and Gopies spoke on the birth of Lord Krishna. They even enacted the Makhan – Chor scene and danced on the “Chotee – Chotee Gaiyaa”. The students also indulged in various activities like paper pasting, flute and matka decoration etc. The Principal Mrs. Ikwinder S. Singh appreciated the efforts of the students and teachers alike for the wonderful presentations. Also present, at the event were Mrs. Sangeeta Bhardwaj, Vice Chairperson Savera Group of Institutions and Mr. Anubhav Bhardwaj, Director DPS World School, Gurgaon and Savera group. In the end the atmosphere became alive with the chants of ‘Go, go, go Govinda!’ When the little Gwal Bals broke the Matki in the form of big balloons with candies inside!

Raksha Bandhan celebrations at DPS World School Gurgaon

DPS World School Gurgaon celebrated Raksha Bandhan with great joy on 17th Aug,2016. During the morning Assembly , the students spoke on the significance of this day. Classes Nursery to 6 indulged in various activities representing the strong bond of love between brother and sister.
The little ones of Nursery, Prep and 1 did colouring and pasting of the rakhis. The students of 2,3 and 4 made colourful Rakhis while classes 5 and 6 decorated the Rakhi Thalis very creatively.

The patriotic fervor came alive at DPS World School, Gurgaon during the 70th Independence Day celebrations on 13th August, 2016. The programme was presided over by Dr. Ishpal Bhardwaj, Chairman, DPS World School Gurgaon. The other guests included Ms. Sangeeta Bhardwaj, Vice – Chairperson, savera Group of Institutions. Mr. Anubhav Bhardwaj, Director, DPS World School, Gurgaon and Mr. P K Patel, Director, Savera School of Architecture and an Ex-IIT Roorkee.
The students put up a spectacular Assembly that showcased the little ones enacting on “Nanha Munna Rahi” and “We Shall Over Come”. It was overwhelming to see the children dressed as freedom fighters and speaking their signature lines. A small glimpse of Dandi March was enacted where in Gandhiji broke the Salt Law at the Sabarmati. The icing on the cake was the foot tapping dance on “Yeh Mera India”
A prize distribution ceremony was held in which the students were awarded the prizes for the “Show and Tell” and “Collage Making on Healthy foods” The Principal, Ms. Ikwinder S. Singh said in her address that the onus of building a successful country lies with the citizens, particularly the children and the youth of today and the real meaning of freedom is Resposibility. She congratulated the prize winners and motivated them to keep working towards achieving greater heights.
On this day, DPS World School, Gurgaon also gave a loud message in the form of a CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) Activity during which the students did slogan writing on “Harmful Tobacco”. This is very true of this area as most of the current population savors to***co and it is a common sight to see the elders smoking huqquas outside their houses. The students vowed to pass on this message to their families.

Report on the Activities done on 23rd July, 2016
DPS World School Gurgaon , indulged in multifarious activities on Sat, 23rd July, 2016.
1.‘ Show and Tell ’ competition was held for classes Nursery , Prep and I . The students got their favourite toys from their homes and spoke on them .There were a whole lot of toys like the dinky car, teddy bears , dolls , toy guns, small guitars ,etc. The little ones took immense pride in talking about their favourite toys and even explained their functions. This was just the beginning of providing a public speaking platform to our little friends which will gradually pave the way into building their confidence.

2. Collage Making on Healthy Foods

Students of II to VII in DPS world School Gurgaon got busy in preparing colourful collages on Healthy Food and its preservation. Foods were categorized and the collages were given real catchy topics. The students even explained their collages to the judges.

BLUE AND YELLOW COLOUR DAYS
The little ones of DPS World School Gurgaon observed blue and yellow colour days on 4th and 7th July 2016. The students and teachers together and collected the respective colour items and created corners that became so alive. Water being the theme for blue colour and Sun for the yellow ,the students did various activities in the form of songs, short speeches and colouring activities. At the end of it all , a colour song was sung that went like this………….
My little Blue Car wants to be on the top but the Red Light song. ‘Stop! Stop!’
My Little Blue Car, wants to be lazy but the orange light says, Get Ready! Ready!
My little Blue Car wants to go slow but the Green Light says. Go! Go!
Now the Little Blue Car wants to have fun and the yellow Sun says Run! Run!
