Translational Health Science and Technology Institute An Institute of Biotechnology Research and Innovation Council (BRIC), Dept. of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, Govt. of India

A distinguished group of health care visionaries set up the Translational Health Science and Technology Institute (THSTI) in 2009. They were impassioned by the urgent Public Health concerns that faced the nation. The emphasis was on fast tracking health care solutions that would meet the needs of a rapidly developing economy in need of health care intensity for its dynamic population. THSTI was mandated to advance knowledge to health care for the community. In the three years that have followed its inception, THSTI has developed with a zeal befitting the corridors of learning. Created as an autonomous institute by the Government of India, under the Department of Biotechnology, Ministry of Science and Technology, THSTI will form a pivotal node in a broader cluster of institutes known as the NCR Biotech Science Cluster. Institutes in the cluster will specialize in translational research and related endeavors. It is an ambitious initiative that aims to create a unique institutional ecosystem for the conduct of truly multidisciplinary research for translation to targeted medical innovations for improvement of public health

Inspiring the next generation of scientists! 🧬✨

On 7th October, Translational Health Science and Technology Institute welcomed Class XI & XII Biology students from GBN Sr. Sec. School, Faridabad, for an immersive campus tour.

The students explored the Bioassay Lab, Biorepository, Vaccine Design & Development Centre, Animal Facility, and Medical Research Centre, gaining insight and interacting with the scientists.

👏A proud moment for Translational Health Science and Technology Institute !

Dr Bharti Bhatia, Principal Scientis-I, has been conferred with the Runner-Up for Ramanujan Arogya Udaan Samman (Individual Excellence – Young Scientist Award) at the Bharat Life Sciences Award, organised by FICCI in partnership with Eli Lilly and Company (India).

She received the award in recognition of her work on developing an indigenous Vesicular Stomatitis Virus (VSV)-based platform for rapid-response vaccines. As part of the award, Dr Bhatia received a grant support of INR 50 lakh.

On 29th Sep 2026, curious Biology students from Classes XI & XII of Amrita Vidyalayam, Pushp Vihar (New Delhi) visited THSTI facilities to learn about cutting-edge translational research.
The students toured the Bioassay Laboratory, Biorepository, Vaccine Design & Development Centre, Experimental Animal Facility, and Medical Research Centre and engaged in inspiring discussions with the scientific team.
