Lathi Charge on Students During CJP March Reflects BJP Government's Fear of Youth Voices
The brutal lathi charge on students participating in the CJP March is deeply condemnable. Instead of engaging with the concerns of young people through dialogue, the BJP government has once again chosen repression and violence.
A government that responds to peaceful student protests with police force reveals its fear of democratic dissent. Students are not enemies of the nation; they are the conscience of society. Their right to assemble and express their views must be protected, not suppressed.
Young Democrats stands in solidarity with the students who faced police action and demands an impartial inquiry into the incident. We call upon the authorities to respect constitutional freedoms and ensure that democratic spaces remain open for every citizen.
