The Hon'ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, in the august presence of the Hon'ble Chief Executive Member (CEM) of KAAC, Dr. Tuliram Ronghang, graced the Mega Inauguration and Foundation Stone Laying Ceremony yesterday, the 11th of March at Rangsina Sarpo Ahongjai, Taralangso, Diphu.
This historic event witnessed a massive infrastructure push worth ₹2,109 crore. Key projects launched and dedicated to the people included the much-awaited Diphu Cancer Centre, the 4-Lane Khorsing Terang Ingjarkap Flyover, Assam's second Sainik School at Langvoku, and the 42 MW Solar Power Plant at Bonglong Terang.
Furthermore, in a strong commitment to preserving the region's rich cultural heritage, Phase II of the Chief Minister’s One Time Financial Assistance was distributed to esteemed traditional practitioners, including Aronbarim Kurusar, Charhepi, Duhuidi, Ucha, Baroi, Uchepi, and others.

Hon’ble Chief Executive Member, Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, Shri Tuliram Ronghang, along with leaders of the Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council (KAAC), witnessed a significant step towards women’s empowerment and inclusive development under the leadership of Hon’ble Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma Ji at a special programme held at Dokmuka Higher Secondary Playground under Havarkehat (Howraghat) LAC.

Under the Mukhya Mantri Mahila Udyamita Abhiyan (MMUA), ₹10,000 seed money was distributed to women entrepreneurs. The programme also marked the inclusion of 2,500 new beneficiaries under the Orunodoi scheme and the announcement of the establishment of a CRPF recruitment centre in Karbi Anglong, reinforcing the collective commitment towards social security, women-led growth, and youth empowerment.

Hon’ble CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang successfully placed the Supplementary Demand for Grants for 2025-26, which was unanimously passed by the House along with Resolution No. 19 regarding tax amendments.

In a historic development, the CEM announced a Special Grant of ₹100 Crores from the Government of Assam, allocated for infrastructure development across all 26 MAC constituencies.

Hon’ble Chief Executive Member Dr. Tuliram Ronghang paid heartfelt tribute to the legendary Khorsing Terang on his 71st Death Anniversary at the Khorsing Terang Memorial Park today.
The solemn occasion honoured the legacy of the first Chief Executive Member of the then Mikir Hills District Council and the New Karbi Anglong Autonomous Council, remembering his immense contributions to the Karbi community and the region’s progress.
Senior Members of the Executive Committee, MACs, dignitaries and members of the public also joined in paying their respects.

Hon'ble CEM Dr. Tuliram Ronghang presided over the signing of the historic Joint Venture MoU between KAAC and Erde Agro Ecosystems Pvt. Ltd. on November 11, 2025.
This powerful partnership for agricultural development in Karbi Anglong and West Karbi Anglong promises massive growth and opportunities:
• Farmer Benefit: Over 10,000 farmers will benefit directly through contract farming for Ginger, Turmeric, Black Pepper, and Bird Eye Chillies, ensuring best market prices via Farmers Producer Companies (FPCs).
• Local Infrastructure: The JV will open Processing and Packaging centres for these spices in the twin districts.
• Employment & Revenue: The initiative is set to employ at least 200 people directly in the first year, scaling up to at least 1,500 people after two years.
