The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Karbi Anglong, is extensively carrying out field visits to pre-identified Flood Relief Camps 2026 across the district for preparation of the upcoming flood season.

During the visits, line departments PHE, APDCL, CDPO, Health Department, Veterinary Department, BDO officials, Executive Magistrates, Relief Camp In-charges, and Revenue Circle officials participated actively and explained their respective roles and responsibilities for the smooth functioning and management of relief camps during flood emergencies.

The inspections focused on preparedness measures, coordination among departments & various stakeholders, and ensuring that essential facilities and services are readily available when the relief camps become operational during the time of flood.

The District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA) Karbi Anglong conducted field visits to various Relief Camps & Model Relief Camps in the district to assess preparedness measures for the upcoming flood season. During the visit, officials inspected the Child Friendly Space (CFS) to ensure adequate arrangements for the safety, care, and well-being of children in relief camps, breast feeding corners, helpdesk etc.

Also reviewed the installation and utilisation of sanitary napkin vending machines to promote hygiene and sanitation facilities for women and adolescent girls staying in relief camps. And interacted with concerned staff like Camp In-charge, Angawadi workers, Health workers and Volunteers on their Roles & Responsibilities and emphasized the importance of maintaining proper facilities, timely distribution of relief materials, and ensuring a safe and inclusive environment for all camp inmates during emergencies.

District Disaster Management Authority ( DDMA) Karbi Anglong has conducted meeting with CQRTs Volunteers in their respective Circles Offices to orient them on their role and responsibilities for the coming flood season.
And also on Relief Camps Management , Distribution of GR items to affected families, and also on use of formats for collection of Data at field level.
