The First Installment Grant Distribution Ceremony under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhiyan (CMAAA) 2.0 was successfully conducted at Tingkhong–Lengeri on 9 February 2026 at 11:00 AM, marking a significant step towards strengthening entrepreneurship and self-employment in Assam.
The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, as the Chief Guest, along with the Hon’ble Minister, Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department, Shri Bimal Borah, in special presence.
Under CMAAA 2.0, financial assistance is being provided to eligible entrepreneurs to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic self-reliance. Beneficiaries under the General Category receive ₹2.00 lakh per beneficiary (50% subsidy and 50% bank loan), while beneficiaries under the Special Category receive ₹5.00 lakh per beneficiary (50% subsidy and 50% bank loan). In addition, skill development training and marketing support are being extended to the beneficiaries.
In this phase, beneficiaries from Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Charaideo districts were covered. District-wise beneficiary distribution included 1,956 from Sivasagar, 3,888 from Dibrugarh, 3,341 from Tinsukia, and 1,219 from Charaideo, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 10,404, of which 10,381 belong to the General Category and 23 to the Special Category. A total grant amount of ₹78 crore was disbursed under this phase.
At the state level, 74,444 entrepreneurs have been covered under CMAAA 2.0, including 74,238 beneficiaries under the General Category and 206 under the Special Category, with total financial assistance exceeding ₹1,495 crore.
