📢 A Major Step Towards Industrial Development in Tingkhong

In a significant move towards strengthening economic growth and industrial development in the Tingkhong region, the Assam Cabinet has recently approved a major project for the establishment of a Solar PV Module manufacturing industry by Inox Solar Limited.

As part of the initiative, officials from the organization visited the Industrial Park at Neelmani today to assess the site and understand various aspects related to the establishment of the proposed industry.

This upcoming project is expected to contribute to regional development, promote renewable energy, and create employment opportunities for the local population.

The young generation will play a vital role in building a self-reliant Assam. With this vision, the Honorable Chief Minister Dr. Himanta Biswa Sharma launched the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhiyan 2.0, aiming to empower aspiring youth and promote entrepreneurship across the state.

As part of this initiative, a cheque distribution programme was organized on 3rd March, 2026 for beneficiaries who could not attend the earlier distribution programme held at Langeri a few days ago.

The programme was attended by Hon’ble Minister of Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises, Shri Bimal Borah, along with Shri Biroj Pran Basumatary, General Manager (i/c), District Industries and Commerce Centre, Dibrugarh, and other officials from the concerned department.

The First Installment Grant Distribution Ceremony under the Chief Minister’s Atmanirbhar Assam Abhiyan (CMAAA) 2.0 was successfully conducted at Tingkhong–Lengeri on 9 February 2026 at 11:00 AM, marking a significant step towards strengthening entrepreneurship and self-employment in Assam.

The programme was graced by the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Assam, Dr. Himanta Biswa Sarma, as the Chief Guest, along with the Hon’ble Minister, Industries, Commerce & Public Enterprises Department, Shri Bimal Borah, in special presence.

Under CMAAA 2.0, financial assistance is being provided to eligible entrepreneurs to promote sustainable livelihoods and economic self-reliance. Beneficiaries under the General Category receive ₹2.00 lakh per beneficiary (50% subsidy and 50% bank loan), while beneficiaries under the Special Category receive ₹5.00 lakh per beneficiary (50% subsidy and 50% bank loan). In addition, skill development training and marketing support are being extended to the beneficiaries.

In this phase, beneficiaries from Sivasagar, Dibrugarh, Tinsukia, and Charaideo districts were covered. District-wise beneficiary distribution included 1,956 from Sivasagar, 3,888 from Dibrugarh, 3,341 from Tinsukia, and 1,219 from Charaideo, bringing the total number of beneficiaries to 10,404, of which 10,381 belong to the General Category and 23 to the Special Category. A total grant amount of ₹78 crore was disbursed under this phase.

At the state level, 74,444 entrepreneurs have been covered under CMAAA 2.0, including 74,238 beneficiaries under the General Category and 206 under the Special Category, with total financial assistance exceeding ₹1,495 crore.

The programme reflects the Government of Assam’s continued commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, generating sustainable employment opportunities, and building a self-reliant Assam through inclusive economic growth. District Administration

State Republic Day Celebration 2026, Dibrugarh

On the occasion of the 77th Republic Day, during the State Republic Day Celebration 2026 at Dibrugarh, the District Industries and Commerce Centre, Dibrugarh presents its tableau under the theme “From Policy to Prosperity – Empowering Industries, Strengthening Assam.”

The tableau portrays Assam as “The New Dawn of the Rising East.” It highlights the signing of Memoranda of Understanding (MoUs) between the Government of Assam and leading industry partners under Advantage Assam 2.0, showcasing the State’s rapid emergence as a major investment destination.

The display features next-generation industries, including the upcoming Semiconductor Plant at Jagiroad, symbolizing a new era of industrialization in Assam. It also showcases the AVFCCL Urea Plant at Namrup and the forthcoming Methyl Amine Unit, reflecting industrial diversification and growth.

The tableau traces Assam’s economic journey from Advantage Assam 1.0 to Advantage Assam 2.0, highlighting a fivefold increase in investment commitments to ₹5.18 lakh crore. Zila Udyam Samagam and Food Festival

The Zila Udyam Samagam and Food Festival was organized under the Raising and Accelerating MSME Performance (RAMP) initiative by the Assam Small Industries Development Corporation (ASIDC), in collaboration with the District Industries & Commerce Centre, Dibrugarh.

The event was held on 19 January 2026 at Panibil, Tingkhong LAC, Dibrugarh, Assam. Alongside the main programme, various training and awareness activities were conducted, including veterinary-related training programmes, Udyam Registration drives, and other capacity-building initiatives, aimed at promoting entrepreneurship and strengthening the MSME ecosystem in the district.
