The 8th Rashtriya POSHAN Maah, 2025 concluded with a Closing Ceremony organized by the Women and Child Development Department, Dhemaji, in collaboration with the District Administration, Dhemaji, and the Sissiborgaon ICDS Project. The event was held at the Auditorium of Raakh Mandir, Silapathar, Dhemaji, Assam, on 15th October, 2025.

The celebration was marked with great enthusiasm and featured Cooking Demonstrations, Food Melas, and the promotion of locally available nutritious food items, highlighting the importance of community participation in improving nutrition and health outcomes.

The programme was graced by the presence of Hon’ble District Commissioner Sri Rahul Suresh Javir, IAS, Smti. Pritirekha Gogoi, ACS, In-Charge District Social Welfare Officer, Dhemaji, Sri Jishnu Saikia, ACS, Assistant Commissioner-cum-Child Development Project Officer, Sissiborgaon ICDS Project, officials from the Health Department, NRC Dietitian and Counselor, ICDS Supervisors, District and Block POSHAN Officials, and Anganwadi Workers and Helpers from across the district.

The event successfully marked the conclusion of the month-long activities under Rashtriya POSHAN Maah, 2025, reaffirming the district’s commitment towards achieving the goals of “Suposh*t Bharat” (Malnutrition-Free India).

DHEMAJI, March 20,2023: Joining the nation-wide Nutritional Campaign 'POSHAN Pakhwada 2023 initiated by the central government, Women & Child Development department of Dhemaji launched a fortnight long programme and pledged to conduct awareness campaign on the importance of nutrition and healthy eating habits at Dhemaji DC’s office on Monday.
Launching the campaign Dhemaji DC Smt Pallabi Phukan suggested officials of Women and Child Development (WCD) department to ensure smooth conduct of the nutritional campaign covering all targeted areas of the district, while she urged the line department officials to actively cooperate with the organizers to make the programme effective.
Officials in WCD informed that their nutritional campaign covers all ICDS projects namely- Dhemaji, Muchkhowa, Sissiborgaon and Murkongselek (Jonai) and will be continued till April 1 this year.
It is said that coinciding with the ongoing International Year of Millets; the organizers will focus on the food and medicinal value of millets (cereal) and encourage the risk groups for consumption of millet as normal food.
The campaign also includes activities for popularization of successful Anganwadi centres and organization of competition of healthy babies.
Among other dignitaries, ADCs- Jadav Pegu, Mirzana Hussain, Nandita Roy Gohain (WCD), Sadar SDO Dr Saurav Kumar Gogoi, Joint Director of Health Services Dr Naranath Pegu, Municipal Councilors and ICDS workers attended the flag off programme.

The Ministry of Women and Child Development through the special campaign aims to raise awareness about the importance of nutrition and promote healthy eating habits through Jan Andolan and Jan Bhagidari during the Poshan Pakhwada.
