Training Completion Ceremony

Today marked the closing ceremony of the two-day training programme for Panchayat-level officials.

The day’s sessions focused on Search & Rescue techniques, along with snakebite prevention and precautionary measures, including essential Do’s and Don’ts to be followed in case of a snakebite.

The training aimed to strengthen preparedness and build effective disaster response capabilities at the grassroots level.

Today, the Annual Anti-Hijacking Mock Exercise and the Aerodrome Committee Meeting were successfully conducted at Gaggal Airport, Kangra, under the chairmanship of the Worthy Deputy Commissioner, Kangra.

The exercise and meeting witnessed the active participation of all key stakeholder departments and agencies, including Police, Health Department, District Disaster Management Authority (DDMA), Intelligence Bureau, Army, National Security Guard (NSG), Airport Internal Staff, Airport Police Security Unit, and other concerned agencies.

The mock exercise was conducted to assess and strengthen the preparedness, coordination, communication, response mechanisms, and inter-agency cooperation required to effectively handle any potential hijacking or aviation-related emergency.

The exercise provided an important platform for all participating agencies to review their respective roles and responsibilities, identify areas for further improvement, and enhance coordinated response capabilities.

Coordination Meeting with Australian High Commission

A coordination meeting was held today between DDMA Kangra, SDRF and the Australian High Commission regarding the welfare, safety and security of Australian citizens visiting Dharamshala and District Kangra.

The meeting focused on emergency preparedness, disaster response, rescue and relief arrangements, communication mechanisms, and coordination among the concerned agencies to ensure timely assistance to International citizens in case of any emergency.

The meeting reaffirmed the commitment of all concerned agencies towards ensuring the safety, well-being and smooth facilitation of International visitors in District Kangra.
