Lha is an award-winning, grassroots, 12AA & 80G non-profit organization and one of the largest Tibetan social work institutes based in Dharamsala, India.

Lha has been providing much-needed and meaningful multi-social services to Tibetan as well as the local Indian and people from the Himalayan regions since 1997. Our organization is unique in the range and quality of services we offer. These services include English, French, Spanish and Chinese classes, cultural exchange programs, computer classes, yoga classes, health and environmental awareness education, wide array volunteer opportunities and co-ordination, distribution of clothes and medicine, a community kitchen, and many other activities, as well as facilitating an easy transition for the Tibetan refugee community and providing long-term rehabilitation resources. Under Lha Charitable Trust’s Tibetan Language & Culture Preservation and Promotion Program, the Trust launched the Merit Scholarship in the name of His Eminence Professor Samdhong Rinpoche to honor and express gratitude for his profound and enduring legacy, particularly in the preservation and promotion of the Tibetan language and culture. This merit scholarship supports dedicated Tibetan graduates in Tibetan Studies for their exemplary commitment to preserving Tibet’s linguistic and cultural heritage.

2026 Lha Nursing Scholarship Recipients...

Lha Charitable Trust held an online meeting with the five recipients of the 2026 Nursing Scholarship. During the session, the students introduced themselves to one another, learned about the history of the organization, and were briefed on the objectives and goals of the scholarship program.

Lha warmly congratulates all the recipients and extends its best wishes for their academic journey.
