Observation of 8th Edition of Poshan Pakhwada 2026

An awareness programme on the occasion of the 8th edition of Poshan Pakhwada 2026 was organized on 23rd April, 2026 at the Digital Classroom of Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous). The programme was jointly organized by the ITEP, NSS Unit, and IQAC of the college.

The programme featured an insightful lecture delivered by Dr. Prarthana Boruah, Head of the Department, ITEP. In her address, she highlighted the importance of proper nutrition, especially for small children, emphasizing balanced diets, growth requirements, and the long-term impact of good nutritional practices on health and development.
Dr. Boruah also focused on the role of students of ITEP as future educators in spreading awareness about nutrition. She encouraged the students to actively engage with parents and communities to promote healthy eating habits and ensure better nutritional outcomes for children.

Awareness Rally and Administration of Ni-Kshay Pledge on account of TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan

An awareness programme on TB Mukt Bharat Abhiyaan was organized on 23rd April, 2026 at Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous) by the NSS Unit in collaboration with IQAC and the Students’ Union.

As part of the programme, an awareness rally was conducted within and around the college campus to sensitize the public and students about tuberculosis, its prevention, and the importance of early diagnosis and treatment.

Following the rally, the Ni-Kshay Pledge was administered to all participants, reaffirming their commitment towards eliminating tuberculosis and contributing to the vision of a TB-free nation by 2047. The pledge emphasized collective responsibility, awareness generation, and support for TB patients.

Observation of Chatra Divas

The NSS Unit and IQAC of Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous) successfully observed Chatra Divas on 31st March 2026 in the Digital Classroom of the college, commemorating the birth anniversary of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma.

The programme commenced at 10:00 A.M. with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp by the Vice Principal, Mr. Chitra Kumar Konch, marking an auspicious beginning to the event. The session was gracefully moderated by Mr. Tabendra Nath Das, Programme Officer of NSS, who ensured the smooth conduct of the programme.

Ms. Shrutilekha Barman, Assistant Professor, attended the event as the Resource Person. In her address, she highlighted the life, ideals, and contributions of Bodofa Upendra Nath Brahma, inspiring students to imbibe values of leadership, social responsibility, and dedication towards community welfare.

Electoral Awareness Rally–2026

An Electoral Awareness Rally was successfully organized at Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous) under the joint initiative of the NSS Unit and the Electoral Literary Club. The programme was conducted in collaboration with the SVEEP (Systematic Voters’ Education and Electoral Participation) Cell, District Election Office, Lakhimpur.

The rally aimed to promote awareness among citizens, particularly the youth, about the importance of voting and active participation in the democratic process. Students, volunteers of the National Service Scheme, and faculty members enthusiastically participated in the event.

Participants carried placards, pamphlets, and awareness materials highlighting key messages such as the importance of voting, ethical electoral practices, and the need for informed decision-making. The rally began from the college premises and moved through nearby areas, engaging with the local community and spreading awareness about voter rights and responsibilities.

Comemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram Special Phase–III
24th March, 2026

The NSS Unit, in collaboration with IQAC, Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous), successfully organised a programme on 24th March, 2026 to commemorate 150 years of Vande Mataram. The event was conducted on the occasion of Shaheedi Diwas within the college premises at 12:00 P.M.

The programme witnessed active participation from students and faculty members, reflecting a deep sense of patriotism and collective spirit. The highlight of the event was a mass singing of Vande Mataram, performed in unison by the participants, creating an atmosphere of national pride and unity across the campus.

Following the mass singing, a short film was screened to mark Shaheedi Diwas. The film sensitised the audience to the sacrifices made by the martyrs and reinforced the importance of remembering their contributions to the nation’s freedom.

On 7 March 2026, a special lecture programme was organised in the Digital Classroom of Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous) on the occasion of International Women’s Day. The programme was jointly organised by the Women Cell and the National Service Scheme (NSS) of the college with the support of the Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC). The theme for this year’s celebration was “Rights, Justice, Action. For all Women and Girls.”

The Principal highlighted the significance of International Women’s Day. In his speech, he emphasized the importance of women’s empowerment and the protection of women’s rights in contemporary society. He also encouraged female students and women to be aware of and stand up for their rights. The resource person for the programme was Ms. Shrutilikha Barman, Assistant Professor of the Department of Political Science. In her speech, she discussed women’s rights and also spoke about women’s health protection and the benefits of yoga, which proved to be highly informative and beneficial for the participants.

Mass Singing Event in connection with 2nd Phase of Comemoration of 150 Years of Vande Mataram

The NSS Unit of Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous), in collaboration with the Students’ Union, Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous), successfully organised a Mass Singing Event on 26th January 2026 in connection with the 2nd phase of the commemoration of 150 Years of “Vande Mataram”.

A large number of NSS volunteers, students, and faculty members actively participated in the programme. The mass singing of "Vande Mataram” created an atmosphere of unity, devotion, and national fervour. Special Talk on the Occasion of National Girl Child Day 2026

A Special Talk on the occasion of National Girl Child Day 2026 was organized on 24th January 2026 at the Digital Classroom, Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous). The programme was organized by the Women Cell, Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous) in collaboration with the NSS Unit and IQAC, Dhakuakhana College (Autonomous).

The programme was arranged with the objective of creating awareness about the rights, dignity, and empowerment of the girl child and to promote gender equality in society. The theme of the talk was “Towards an Egalitarian Society: Protecting the Rights and Dignity of the Girl Child.”

The resource person for the programme was Dr. Paparimala Bhuyan, Assistant Professor, Department of History. In her insightful address, Dr. Bhuyan highlighted the historical and social perspectives related to the status of the girl child in society. She emphasized the importance of education, legal awareness, and social responsibility in ensuring equal rights and dignity for girls. She also spoke on issues such as gender discrimination, child marriage, access to education, and the role of society in protecting and empowering the girl child.
