Moved out of Supplyco.
After nearly a year of service - first as Chairman & Managing Director for five months, and later as Chairman for another six - my journey with this incredible organisation has come to an end in June '25.
With over 1,600 outlets across the state, it provides 13 essential commodities at subsidised rates, reaching more than 32 lakh families- out of 94 lakh ration card holders.
Yes, there are times when shelves go empty, when funding delays hit hard, or when a customer walks away unhappy. But that should not shadow what this organisation has stood for since 1974 - a steady, unwavering force ensuring food security to those who need it most.
And let’s not forget- no private retail chain even comes close, in size or in purpose.
Supplyco is also the nodal agency for procuring paddy from over 2.5 lakh farmers of Kerala. Their livelihoods, the food we eat, and the state’s buffer stock are all tied to this single thread.
Regardless of our political views or economic debates, there’s one thing we must agree on: Supplyco must survive.
For that, it needs not just policies or funds - but the support of people like you and me.
So next time you have a choice - choose Supplyco. Every purchase is a vote for Kerala’s food security. Every bill is a quiet act of solidarity.

2024 ഓഗസ്റ്റ് മുതൽ ഏകദേശം 5 മാസത്തോളം സപ്ലൈകോയുടെ ചെയർമാൻ & മാനേജിംഗ് ഡയറക്ടറായും ആറുമാസത്തോളം ചെയർമാൻ മാത്രമായും സേവനമനുഷ്ഠിച്ച ശേഷം ട്രാൻസ്പോർട്ട് ഡിപ്പാർട്ട്മെന്റ് സ്പെഷ്യൽ സെക്രട്ടറിയായി ജൂൺ മാസം സ്ഥാനമേറ്റെടുത്തു.
കേരളത്തിലുള്ള 94 ലക്ഷം റേഷൻ കാർഡ് ഹോൾഡേഴ്സിൽ 32 ലക്ഷത്തിലധികം കുടുംബങ്ങൾ സ്ഥിരമായി കസ്റ്റമേഴ്സ് ആയിട്ടുള്ള 1600-ലധികം ഔട്ട്ലെറ്റുകൾ ഉള്ള കേരളത്തിലെ മറ്റേതൊരു റീടൈൽ ചെയിനുകൾക്കും പകരം വെക്കാൻ ആകാത്ത സ്ഥാപനമാണ് സപ്ലൈകോ.
25 മുതൽ 30 ശതമാനം വരെ വില കുറവിൽ 13 ആവശ്യ വസ്തുക്കൾ വിൽക്കുന്നു എന്ന് അവകാശ പെടുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ, ചിലപ്പോഴെങ്കിലും ചില അവശ്യ വസ്തുക്കൾ ഇല്ലാതിരിക്കുകയോ, ആവശ്യത്തിന് അളവിൽ ലഭ്യമാകാതിരിക്കുകയോ ചെയ്യാറുണ്ട് എന്നും കസ്റ്റമേഴ്സിനോട് പരുഷമായി പെരുമാറുന്ന ചുരുക്കം ചില സപ്ലൈകോ സ്റ്റാഫ് ഉണ്ട് എന്നുമുള്ള വാസ്തവങ്ങൾ അംഗീകരിക്കുന്നു.
എന്നിരുന്നാലും,1974 മുതൽ കഴിഞ്ഞ 50 വർഷങ്ങളിലേറെയായി കേരളത്തിലെ സാധാരണ ജനങളുടെ ഭക്ഷ്യസുരക്ഷ ഉറപ്പാക്കുന്നതിൽ സപ്ലൈകോ ചെയ്തുവരുന്ന നിസ്സാർത്ഥമായ സേവനം നാം ഒരിക്കലും കണ്ടില്ലെന്ന് നടിച്ചു കൂടാ
എന്ന് എനിക്ക് തോന്നുന്നു.
റിലയൻസും മോറും ബിഗ് ബസാറും നമ്മുടെ ഫേവറേറ്റ് സൂപ്പർമാർക്കറ്റുകൾ ആയിരിക്കുമ്പോൾ തന്നെ കേരളത്തിന്റെ മുക്കിലും മൂലയിലുമായി പ്രവർത്തിക്കുന്ന1600-ലധികം ഔട്ട്ലെറ്റുകളുള്ള സപ്ലൈകോയുടെ ഏഴയലത്ത് പോലും ഇവയൊന്നും എത്തുന്നില്ല എന്നുള്ളതും കേരളത്തിലെ 94 ലക്ഷം കുടുംബങ്ങളിൽ 32 ലക്ഷം കുടുംബങ്ങൾ ഇപ്പോഴും എല്ലാ മാസവും ആശ്രയിക്കുന്ന ഏക സ്ഥാപനം സപ്ലൈകോ ആണ് എന്നുള്ളതും വാസ്തവങ്ങളായി തുടരും.
അതുകൊണ്ട്, നിങ്ങളുടെ വ്യക്തിപരമായ പരാതികളും പരിഭവങ്ങളും നിലനിൽക്കേ തന്നെ, രാഷ്ട്രീയ അഭിപ്രായ വിത്യാസങ്ങൾ നിലനിർത്തികൊണ്ട് തന്നെ, നമ്മുടെ അടുത്ത ഷോപ്പിംഗിന്റെ ചെറിയൊരംശം സപ്ലൈകോയിൽ നിന്നാക്കുന്നത് ഈ സ്ഥാപനത്തിന്റെ നിലനിൽപിന് ഏറെ സഹായകരമാകും എന്ന് നമുക്ക് ഓർമ്മിക്കാം..
