NIDM, under MHA, Govt. of India, hosted a 3-day SBCC training from July 3rd to 5th, 2024, uniting officials and experts from 21 States and UTs. SBCC is critical for disaster preparedness, translating awareness into proactive community actions. It influences attitudes and behaviors, ensuring timely communication throughout all emergency phases—Mitigation, Preparedness, Response, and Recovery—to foster a culture of readiness.
In India, where disasters like earthquakes and floods affect millions, SBCC thus, becomes imperative.
