The All India Kabaddi Cluster 2026 is scheduled to be held from 7th to 12th March, 2026 at various venues in Distt. Jammu. The prestigious tournament is being organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Police.
This All India level sporting event will witness the participation of Police and CAPF teams from across the country. The championship aims to promote sportsmanship, discipline, physical fitness, teamwork and inter-force camaraderie among participating units. It will also provide a platform for personnel to showcase their talent, competitive spirit and dedication to excellence in sports.
The event is expected to foster unity, strengthen professional bonds among forces and encourage a culture of health and fitness within the security fraternity.

The DIG AP Jammu Conducts Surprise Visit to Police Public School, Miran Sahib; Reviews Fairness of Recruitment Examination...
Jammu, February 16, 2026:
Sh. Sameer Sharma, IPS, paid a surprise visit to Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu to oversee and assess the fairness and transparency of the recruitment examination being conducted for the posts of Librarian, English/Chemistry Teacher and Receptionist.
Upon arrival at the examination centre, the DIG was received by the school administration and supervisory staff. He conducted a thorough inspection of the examination arrangements including verification of seating plans, examination halls and the overall conduct of the examination process.
During the visit, the DIG interacted with the supervisory staff and issued necessary directions to ensure that the examination was conducted in a fair, transparent and disciplined manner, strictly in accordance with the prescribed guidelines and procedures. He also emphasized maintaining proper decorum, vigilance and adherence to examination protocols to prevent any malpractice.
The DIG expressed satisfaction over the arrangements made by the school administration and appreciated their efforts in ensuring a smooth and transparent examination process. The DIG Armed Jammu visited M.A. Stadium, Jammu today to inspect the ongoing preparations for the Republic Day Parade–2026.
Jammu, January 20, 2026: Sh. Sameer Sharma-IPS, Dy. Inspector General of Police, Armed Range Jammu visited M.A Stadium, Jammu to review Parade arrangements, discipline, turnout and coordination among participating contingents. Necessary directions were issued to the officers concerned to ensure flawless conduct of the Parade and adherence to prescribed standards. A felicitation ceremony for the players of the J&K Police Central Sports Team and DIG Armed, Jammu was held at Armed Police Headquarters, Jammu.

On 27th November 2025, Shri Anand Jain, IPS, Additional Director General of Police, Armed J&K, along with other officers of the Armed Police, felicitated the players of the J&K Police Central Sports Teams in a ceremony held at the lawns of APHQ Jammu. The event was organised to acknowledge their outstanding performances and for bringing laurels to J&K Police in various national and state-level tournaments.

During the ceremony, DIG Armed Range Jammu, Shri Sameer Sharma, IPS, was also honoured with a memento by the worthy ADGP for successfully participated and completed *Ironman 70.3* held at Goa. His achievement has brought pride and recognition to the Police Department.

The ADGP Armed congratulated all medal and memento winners and appreciated their dedication, hard work, and contribution towards uplifting the sports culture within J&K Police.

𝙉𝙤𝙫𝙚𝙢𝙗𝙚𝙧 22, 2025: Sh Sameer Sharma, IPS, Deputy Inspector General, Armed Range Jammu paid a visit to the 1st Border Battalion, located at Ambghrota, Jammu. Upon his arrival, DIG was accorded a warm welcome by Commandant, Sh Sanjeev Khajuria, officers and Jawans of the Battalion.

During inspection, DIG conducted a comprehensive review of functioning, administrative working, and operational preparedness of the unit. He also interacted with Jawans, commending their professionalism, discipline, and dedication towards duty.

In an interaction, DIG discussed key aspects related to field challenges, welfare initiatives, skill enhancement, and measures to boost efficiency and coordination within the Battalion. He emphasized the importance of maintaining high standards of discipline, integrity, and readiness while discharging responsibilities in various assignments.

DIG AP Jammu Visits Bajalta, Reviews Progress of Women Ist Battalion Headquarters Construction

Jammu, November 21, 2025 – The Deputy Inspector General of Police, AP Jammu, Sh. Sameer Sharma, IPS, paid a visit today to Bajalta in Jammu, where the new Headquarters of the Women Ist Battalion is under construction. On his arrival at the site, DIG Sameer Sharma was received by Sh. RC Kotwal, Commanding Officer Women Ist Battalion, along with other officers of the unit.

During his inspection of the ongoing construction works, the DIG AP took a detailed review of the project's under construction. Emphasizing the importance of quality and adherence to schedules, DIG AP directed all involved parties may expedite the pace of work and ensure the premises are completed and handed over within the stipulated timeline so that the said unit may shift and started work there soon.

During his interactions, DIG Sameer Sharma underscored the importance of height discussed the current security scenario and highlighted the need for disciplined and effective policing, stressing that maintaining a high degree of alertness remains crucial for ensuring peace and security in the region.

Jammu November 21, 2025- The Dy. Inspector General of Police, Sh Sameer Sharma, IPS paid a visit today Police Public School, Miran Sahib, Jammu. On his arrival at the site, Sh Sameer Sharma was received by Sh. Rajeev Sharma, Principal Police Public School along with other staff.
During surprise visit, DIG AP took a detailed review regarding studies, other curriculum activities and interacted with students and teachers. Emphasizing the importance of quality education, he urged the faculty to prepare the students for competitive exams and participation in events/games.

Jammu, 07-11-2025-In recognition of the historic importance and national significance of the iconic song Vande Mataram, a grand programme was organized with great enthusiasm and patriotic fervor at the premises of J&K Police Public School Miran Sahib Jammu, today on 07 November 2025, as part of the nationwide commemoration marking the 150th anniversary of the song. The event was held in consonance with the Government of India’s decision to celebrate this momentous milestone across the country.
The celebration commenced with a mass singing of “Vande Mataram” by the students and teachers of the school. The entire campus echoed with the soulful rendition, filling the atmosphere with a sense of unity, pride, and deep reverence for the motherland.
Following the chorus, two students of the school Mr. Simon Singh and Miss. Radhika Choudhary of Class XII delivered speeches in English and Hindi respectively. Both the students eloquently highlighted the immense importance of Vande Mataram during India’s freedom struggle against colonial rule. The students emphasized how the song served as a rallying cry that awakened the spirit of patriotism and sacrifice among countless Indians who fought for the nation’s independence.
Shri Rajeev Sharma, Principal of the school also addressed the gathering, underscoring the everlasting relevance of Vande Mataram. He stressed the need to inculcate the spirit, values, and ideals upheld by our freedom fighters in the young minds of today. He explained how Vande Mataram continues to inspire generations and holds a place of highest honour, representing the values of patriotism, unity, courage, and service to the nation.
Thereafter, the speech of the Hon’ble Prime Minister of India was screened in classrooms and Auditorium of the school. In his address, the Prime Minister reflected on the enduring legacy of “Vande Mataram”, reminding citizens that it is not merely a song, but a sacred invocation to the motherland that united the nation during its darkest times. He urged the youth to carry forward this legacy with pride and contribute to building a strong, self-reliant India inspired by the ideals of the song. His words ignited the minds of students, instilling a strong sense of pride and responsibility towards nation’s progress.
The programme concluded with a vote of thanks, wherein Shri Rajeev Sharma, Principal expressed heartfelt gratitude to Shri Sameer Sharma, IPS, DIG Armed Range, Jammu ( Administrative Officer- JKPPS Jammu ) for his constant guidance, encouragement, and support in making the event a resounding success.
