Those who are killed in the cause of Allah: Do not call them dead. In fact ! they are living, though you can not- perceive that life.

It was on this very day, eight years ago, an MSF activist, Ariyil Shukoor was murdered. A 19 year old was hacked to death for no reason. CPIM,the biggest hypocritical political party in the Kerala, decided to hold a Kangaroo trail (read as a illegal communist party court) in a paddy field in Kannur's Talipparamb area, and brutally murdered the youth.
Few hours before the murder, in a political skirmish in the area, some miscreants had allegedly hurled stones on the vehicle of CPM district secretary P. Jayarajan. The rumours were spread from the party organs that Shukoor was there in the crowd who had thrown stones. The media wing of CPIM, 'Kairali' repeatedly screened a video were some crowd prevents P Jayarajan's vehicle. Later it was proven that Shukoor was not there in the crowd and he was, in fact, on his way to town for applying for an exam.
Two years back, a CPIM MLA, AN Shamseer from Kannur district during a TV Channel debate, publicly admitted that it was CPM workers who killed Shukoor. He said: โShukoorโs was not a planned murder. He was attacked by a mob. That was crowd psychology. We have never justified it; neither have we denied any party connection,โ It is the very same who criticize mob-lynching in elsewhere and justifies it in Kerala. When they use right hand to shake hand with others, on the left hand they hold a knife to stabb.
The CPM continues to justify their brutal killing fields in the state. We want all the peace living-democratic forces to join hands together against the brutalities of CPIM. The memory and sacrifice of Shukoor will strengthen our resolve to fight for honourable existence. Our party will niether yeield to the dictates of Social Fascim nor to the communal fascism ever. Green salutes to the great legacy of Shaheed Ariyil Shukoor.
