Asha Ba salutes Tukaram Mundhe 🙏

In a landmark move for child health, the Maharashtra Food and Drug Administration (FDA), under Commissioner Shri Tukaram Mundhe, has banned the sale of junk food chips, carbonated drinks, burgers, and other HFSS (High Fat, Salt & Sugar) items within 50 metres of schools across the state. School canteens and midday meal kitchens have also been directed to prioritise healthier alternatives like fruits, whole grains, and dairy, with valid food safety licensing and regular inspections to ensure compliance.

This is exactly the kind of everyday vigilance Ba Dekh Rahi Hai has been championing since day one that what our children eat deserves the same scrutiny we give everything else in their lives. It’s heartening to see policy catch up with the cause, and we wanted to take a moment to honour the officer behind it.

This poster is our small tribute to a decision that puts children’s health first.

Thali sirf pet nahi, sehat bhi bharti hai.

Every meal is an opportunity to nourish your body. A Healthy Plate is not about eating less it’s about eating right. Fill your plate with a balance of vegetables, fruits, whole grains, protein-rich foods, and healthy fats, while staying active every day.

At , we believe that good health begins with everyday choices. Instead of blindly following trends, we encourage children and families to pause, observe, and ask simple questions:

“Is my plate balanced?”

“Am I giving my body what it truly needs?”

Because awareness starts with one mindful bite, and lifelong health is built one meal at a time.

BA Collective Hindu College Edition ‘26: A Wrap 30th April 2026 | Hindu College, University of Delhi

It was a privilege to bring the BA Collective to one of India’s most iconic campuses. Under the movement - India’s first people-driven nutrition and public health movement we convened students and young professionals for a panel discussion on a question that demands urgent attention: “Are We the Sickest Healthy Generation?”

The room was engaged, the dialogue was sharp, and the perspectives were ones the mainstream health conversation rarely amplifies.

Grateful to our partners - Connecting Dreams Foundation, Girl Up JMI, Laal Dhaage, Aafiyat, and Fortis Memorial Research Institute (FMRI) Gurugram, Gurgaon for making this possible.

Because awareness begins with a simple thought. Kyunki . 👁️

Ms. Tanisha Pandit: Founder, GITA Foundation
Ms. Kritika Khurana: Clinical Nutritionist & Health Coach

Moderated by Ms. Palakh Khanna, Founder, Break the Ice & Asia’s 100 Women Power Leaders 2023.

Open to students and young professionals. Invitations by selection — scan the poster to register.

Yesterday: what's in your food.
Today: how to actually find out.

Reading a food label is a skill. A real one. And nobody teaches it.

Here's what to look for in 60 seconds:
→ Ingredient order (first = most)
→ Sugar aliases (there are 56 of them)
→ The serving size trick (your biggest enemy)

Watch the full breakdown 👆

And the next time you pick up a packet — check.

7am. You grab a packet on the way out.

Sodium benzoate. Maltodextrin. BHA. Carrageenan. Acesulfame-K.

You ate all of them. Before 8am.

Not because you chose them. Because nobody taught you to look.

Ba Dekh Rahi Hai — and this week, so are we.

One week. One full day's worth of things you consume without knowing. Starting with what's in your food.
