🧵 Celebrating India’s Rich Handloom Heritage 🇮🇳
The Primary Wing of DAV Public School, Sector-7, Rohini organised a special assembly to commemorate National Handloom Day, providing students with an enriching opportunity to explore India’s vibrant textile heritage.
The assembly began with the Word of the Day, Thought of the Day and News, followed by an insightful presentation by the students on the diverse handloom traditions of India. They spoke about exquisite Indian weaves and crafts such as Ikat, Phulkari, Patola, Banarasi and Madhubani, along with the distinctive handloom traditions of different states. Through their presentations, students learnt how every weave reflects the rich cultural identity, history, artistry and craftsmanship of its region.
The celebration beautifully resonated with the message of Hon’ble Prime Minister Shri Narendra Modi, who has shared a special message urging everyone to celebrate and popularise India’s vibrant handloom diversity and appreciate the invaluable contribution of our weavers and artisans.
Principal Ms. Rajbir Kaur applauded the students for their enthusiastic participation and efforts. The assembly encouraged young learners to appreciate India's indigenous crafts, respect the skill of our artisans and embrace the spirit of “Vocal for Local.”
It was an insightful and meaningful learning experience, connecting our young learners with the rich cultural fabric of India. 🇮🇳🧵
