India’s defence manufacturing success is increasingly becoming the next step towards self-reliance.

In FY 2024-25, India’s defence production reached a record-high of ₹1.5 lakh crore, registering 18% growth over the previous fiscal year. Defence exports also surged to a record high of ₹23,622 crore.

Together, these milestones reflect the growing strength of India’s indigenous defence manufacturing force-driven by a focus on domestic production, technology development and reduced dependence on imports.

Under the Aatmanirbhar Bharat and Make in India vision, India is reinforcing capabilities across defence equipment, aerospace, advanced technologies and high-value manufacturing.

As the sector expands, new opportunities are emerging for global businesses to collaborate, innovate, manufacture and participate across India’s growing defence value chain.
