The President of DUSU Rocky Tuseed II has ended his 4 day indefinite hunger strike finally when the Vice Chancellor had agreed to listen to his demands and act upon it. The issues raised by the President are :-
1. 24/7 Library access to students without any administrative hindrances.
2. Construction of hostels for all the students ‘Hostel For All’.
3. Transparency in “Hostel Allotment Process” and a single window application system for applying for hostel accommodation instead of individual applications.
4. Implementation of General Finance Regulation 2017 in the university.
5. Student representation in the EC and AC committee of University.
6. Supplementary Exam for Law students.
7. PG entrance exam shall be conducted in both mode i.e. online &offline.
8. Deployment of Women Police officials and security officers along with CCTV cameras all around college facilities to ensure complete safety of girl students.
9. Implementation of ICC guidelines for women safety in all colleges of Delhi University.
10. Prevent University from the Privatization and commercialization of university/colleges.
11. Digitization of Library books, materials, course material using third party help.
12. Formation of a dedicated “Placement Cell” to ensure employability to all students
13. Implementing global wifi student service “Eduroam” along Delhi University campus to make wifi accessible to all the Delhi University students at par with global university standards and benchmark.
14. Discussion on the issue of “Fee Hike” and its consequences on students belonging to economic weaker sections. Steps to ensure adequate scholarships and financial support provided to such strata of our society.
15. Implementation of Lyngdoh Committee report in its true form in Delhi University.
16. Re-drafting of the DUSU Constitution to meet the new guidelines imposed by various Court cases upon Delhi University.
17. Discussion on Electoral Reforms and how to make elections green and eco-friendly.
18. Providing Secure and Safe space to students of all ideological background and leaning. Providing them security and ensuring voice of dissent is not curtailed within the University.
19. Making “Ethnic Diversity and Minority Cell” a permanent feature of every Union to ensure opportunity of equal representation is provided to all those communities which feel marginalized and are not directly represented within the Union.
20. Easing the complications around availing Sports Membership and accessing Sports Facilities of the University for regular students. Present process too bureaucratic and complex forcing most of the students to opt for private gyms and facilities.
21. Making Career oriented skills a permanent part of curriculum beyond academics and allowing students to take modules and online courses provided beyond their regular courses and getting them accredited to their final degree as supplementary courses.
22. Dedicated DUSU Union website within www.du.ac.in to ensure pure transparency in the day to day working of Union and allowing us to communicate directly to the students
23. Implementing the Honourable Supreme Court Order on CBSE Vs Aditya Bandopadhyay whereby it asked all Central Government Institutions to provide legitimate copies/inspection of evaluated answer sheets through RTI to students.
24. Providing audio visual aids, appliances and resources according to syllabus to visually impaired students and other special needs students.
25. Fully functional “Equal Oppurtunity Cell” within University of Delhi
