Gyan Bharatam Mission seeks to unearth and preserve the vast manuscript wealth of India by identifying, documenting, conserving & digitizing them.

The Manuscript Conservation Center, INTACH Kashmir Chapter, under the Gyan Bharatam Mission, successfully conducted a two week Workshop on Preventive and Curative Conservation of Manuscripts from 4 to 16 May 2026.

The workshop was attended by research scholars of the Persian Department, University of Kashmir, who are associated with the Cluster Centre of Gyan Bharatam, Kashmir. The programme provided hands on training in manuscript documentation, condition assessment, preventive conservation, dry cleaning, tear mending, loss compensation, lining, consolidation, and reinforcement techniques.

Through a combination of demonstrations and practical sessions, participants gained valuable skills in the scientific preservation of manuscript heritage, contributing to the long term safeguarding of Kashmir's rich documentary legacy.

The workshop reflects the continued commitment of the Gyan Bharatam Mission towards building local capacity for the preservation and conservation of India's manuscript heritage.

📜 ज्ञान भारतम् के अंतर्गत एक और महत्वपूर्ण उपलब्धि

संस्कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार के ज्ञान भारतम् मिशन के तहत पाण्डुलिपियों के संरक्षण एवं डिजिटलीकरण के सतत प्रयासों के क्रम में पण्डित जवाहर लाल नेहरू बाल साहित्य अकादमी, जयपुर में संरक्षित एक प्राचीन एवं दुर्लभ हस्तलिखित पाण्डुलिपि का सफलतापूर्वक डिजिटलीकरण किया गया।

महाराजा सवाई जयसिंह के काल से संबंधित यह बहुमूल्य ग्रंथ भारतीय वास्तुशास्त्र की समृद्ध परंपरा का अद्वितीय दस्तावेज है। इसमें भवन, मंदिर, नगर, जलाशय, राजप्रासाद, गृह योजना, नगर नियोजन तथा दुर्ग निर्माण के सिद्धांतों का विस्तृत एवं व्यवस्थित वर्णन प्राप्त होता है।

यह पाण्डुलिपि भारत की वैज्ञानिक, स्थापत्य एवं सांस्कृतिक ज्ञान-परंपरा की अमूल्य धरोहर है, जिसका डिजिटलीकरण भावी पीढ़ियों के लिए इस ज्ञान-संपदा के संरक्षण एवं प्रसार की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण कदम है।

📜 सहरसा की धरती से सामने आई भारत की अमूल्य ज्ञान-धरोहर

संस्कृति मंत्रालय, भारत सरकार की ज्ञान भारतम् पहल के अंतर्गत बिहार के सहरसा जिले के कहरा ग्राम में 400–500 वर्ष पुरानी दुर्लभ एवं बहुमूल्य पांडुलिपियों का महत्वपूर्ण संकलन प्राप्त हुआ है।

पीढ़ियों से संरक्षित ये पांडुलिपियाँ भारत की समृद्ध ज्ञान, साहित्य, ज्योतिष, वास्तु एवं पारंपरिक विद्या की जीवंत विरासत का प्रमाण हैं। यह खोज न केवल हमारी प्राचीन ज्ञान परंपरा की गौरवशाली निरंतरता को दर्शाती है, बल्कि पांडुलिपि संरक्षण एवं सर्वेक्षण के महत्व को भी रेखांकित करती है।

ज्ञान भारतम् का यह अभियान देशभर में बिखरी हुई ज्ञान-संपदा को खोजने, संरक्षित करने और आने वाली पीढ़ियों तक पहुँचाने के लिए निरंतर कार्यरत है।

📜 The 10-Day Online Grantha Script Learning Workshop, organized under Gyan Bharatam, Ministry of Culture, was successfully conducted from 20th to 29th May 2026 under the guidance of script expert Shri Sisir Kumar Padhy Sisir Padhy.

The workshop provided participants with a valuable opportunity to learn and understand the fundamentals of the Grantha script, an important part of India's manuscript heritage. Students and manuscript enthusiasts from different regions actively participated in the sessions and enhanced their knowledge through interactive learning.

We sincerely thank all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and commitment to preserving and promoting Bharat’s rich manuscript traditions.

ज्ञान भारतम् मिशन के अंतर्गत संचालित राष्ट्रीय पांडुलिपि एवं ज्ञान-संपदा सर्वेक्षण का कार्य देशभर में व्यापक स्तर पर प्रगति पर है। इस महत्त्वपूर्ण अभियान के माध्यम से अनेक दुर्लभ एवं ऐतिहासिक पांडुलिपियाँ तथा अभिलेख प्रकाश में आ रहे हैं, जो भारत की समृद्ध ज्ञान परंपरा के अमूल्य साक्ष्य हैं।

यह गौरव का विषय है कि सर्वेक्षण के दौरान प्राप्त ऐसी ही एक महत्त्वपूर्ण पांडुलिपि का उल्लेख माननीय प्रधानमंत्री श्री नरेंद्र मोदी ने 31 मई 2026 को प्रसारित ‘मन की बात’ के 134वें एपिसोड में किया। यह भारत की ज्ञान-संपदा के संरक्षण एवं प्रलेखन हेतु किए जा रहे सतत प्रयासों की महत्ता को रेखांकित करता है।

📜 गुजरात ने पांडुलिपि सर्वेक्षण के क्षेत्र में रचा नया इतिहास।

भारत सरकार के संस्कृति मंत्रालय की गुजरात प्रभारी अपर सचिव एवं वित्तीय सलाहकार श्रीमती वंदना जैन के निर्देशन एवं मार्गदर्शन में गुजरात राज्य ने पांडुलिपि सर्वेक्षण के क्षेत्र में ऐतिहासिक उपलब्धि प्राप्त की है।

संस्कृति मंत्रालय के मार्गदर्शन में गुजरात राज्य में अब तक लगभग 13 लाख पांडुलिपियों का सर्वेक्षण पूर्ण किया जा चुका है, जिसके साथ गुजरात देश में पांडुलिपि सर्वेक्षण के क्षेत्र में दूसरे स्थान पर पहुँच गया है।

यह उपलब्धि भारत की समृद्ध ज्ञान परंपरा, जैन, वैदिक, संस्कृत एवं प्राचीन साहित्यिक धरोहर के संरक्षण, दस्तावेजीकरण एवं संवर्धन की दिशा में एक महत्वपूर्ण मील का पत्थर है।

संस्कृति मंत्रालय एवं ज्ञान भारतम् के संयुक्त प्रयास भारत की अमूल्य पांडुलिपि विरासत को सुरक्षित एवं वैश्विक स्तर पर प्रतिष्ठित करने हेतु निरंतर समर्पित हैं।
