For SC/ST Micro & Small Enterprises (MSEs), eligible expenses associated with business development can be supported through reimbursement schemes under the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH).

The 2nd Edition of the Business Accelerator Programme (BAP) for Wards of SC/ST Entrepreneurs has been launched, bringing together 40 aspiring entrepreneurs from across India.

Implemented under the National SC-ST Hub (NSSH), Ministry of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises, Government of India, in collaboration with IIM Shillong Foundation for Incubation and Enterprises (IIMSFIE), the programme aims to equip participants with the knowledge, skills and entrepreneurial mindset needed to identify opportunities and build sustainable enterprises.

The programme will provide participants with structured learning, expert guidance, mentoring, peer learning and practical exposure across key aspects of entrepreneurship โ€” from opportunity identification and business fundamentals to capability development and enterprise creation.

The launch marks the beginning of an exciting entrepreneurial journey for 40 aspiring entrepreneurs as they take their first steps towards turning ideas into viable and sustainable businesses.

Meet Mr. Anoop Kotia, an entrepreneur from Agra, Uttar Pradesh, building his enterprise in the Fire Safety & MEP Services sector.

The National SC-ST Hub (NSSH) took its outreach to Leh, participating in the Seabuckthorn conclave and engaging with local stakeholders to strengthen awareness around entrepreneurship and enterprise development.

As part of the visit, NSSH officials also interacted with banks and undertook field-level outreach to promote NSSH schemes and support available to SC/ST entrepreneurs and MSEs.

Taking enterprise support to the ground, NSSH continues to connect SC/ST entrepreneurs with opportunities, resources and institutional support.

Meet Apex Technology, Darjeeling, West Bengal, led by Mr. Jayanta Biswas, working in the field of water treatment, filtration systems and allied technical solutions.

Through support under the Special Credit Linked Capital Subsidy Scheme (SCLCSS), the enterprise received โ‚น18.19 lakh in subsidy assistance, supporting technology upgradation and stronger operational capabilities.

This strengthened foundation helped Apex Technology secure order from NHPC Limited for the supply of filtration media, strainers and related components for the Teesta Low Dam-IV Power Station, Kalijhora.

The journey reflects how capability enhancement and technology upgradation can strengthen enterprise readiness and open opportunities in government and institutional markets.
