A Testament to Courage, Compassion, and Humanity

In the midst of unimaginable grief, the family of Mrs Sanju Gurjar, a 30-year-old young mother at Command Hospital (Western Command), Chandimandir, made the courageous decision to donate her organs after she was declared brain dead following established medical and legal protocols.

Her husband, a serving soldier of the Rajput Regiment, took the selfless decision, supported by her father, a veteran of the Special Forces (Para Regiment).

Her liver, heart and two kidneys gave four patients a chance at a new beginning, while her corneas helped restore sight to two people.

The successful donation and retrieval involved coordinated efforts by Command Hospital (Western Command), SOTTO Haryana, ROTTO PGIMER Chandigarh and NOTTO, along with multiple retrieval teams and supporting authorities.

NOTTO pays tribute to Mrs Sanju Gurjar and salutes her family for their extraordinary courage, compassion and humanity.

From profound grief came a gift that gave six families hope.

When a young mother was declared brain dead at Command Hospital (Western Command), Chandimandir, her husband, a serving soldier of the Rajput Regiment, made the courageous decision to donate her organs.

Her heart, liver, kidneys and corneas gave six families a second chance and restored the gift of sight.

One selfless decision. Six lives touched. A legacy that lives on.

This is the extraordinary power of organ donation, where one family’s courage can become another family’s hope.

Swap transplant is not a simple exchange.

It’s about the right compatibility, proper approvals, and a regulated process.
Because in transplantation, the right match comes first.
