YOUTH SERVICES & EMPOWERMENT AUGUST 2026 # INSTALLATION CEREMONY INTERACT CLUB

Under the guidance of the principal of the school, Ms. Sonia Malik, the school organized the Fifth Installation Ceremony of the Interact Club ‘Ray of Hope’ on August 20, 2026, under the aegis of the parent club, Rotary Club Delhi Janak, District 3011.
The day began with the ceremonial lighting of the lamp, followed by the floral welcome of the distinguished guests of the day—Rtn. Rakesh Kumar, District Interact Chair, RY 26–27; Rtn. Prof. Dr. R. K. Suri, President, RY 26–27, RCDJ; Rtn. Kamal Grover, Secretary, RY 26–27, RCDJ; PP Rtn. Rajeev Thukral; PP Raju Agarwal; Rtn. Archana Agarwal, President-Elect, RY 27–28; Rtn. Adarsh Kaur; Rtn. Suman Mehta; Rtn. Sandhya Sagar; and Rtn. Vandana Arora.
Thereafter, Madam Principal, Ms. Sonia Malik, welcomed the august gathering, expressed her pride in and confidence in the new council members, and emphasized the importance of serving the community.
The melodious Saraswati Vandana and the scintillating dance performance left the audience spellbound.
The highlight of the ceremony was the screening of a PPT showcasing the various community service initiatives undertaken by the students of the Interact Club, as the outgoing President, Raghvi Vashist, shared her experiences. The incoming President, Saumya Singhal, introduced her team and presented their vision and plans for the year ahead.
The Installation Ceremony included the handing over of the charter, collar, and pins to the newly elected Interact Club Parliament team.
The oath was administered by President R. K. Suri, followed by the blessings of the eminent Rotarians.

YOUTH SERVICES & EMPOWERMENT AUGUST 2026 BUILDING EVENT FOR INTERACTORS
Under the guidance of the principal of the school Ms Sonia Malik, DAV Paschim Enclave is glad to share that the members of Interact Club-Ray of Hope attended the GOV and Installation ceremony- Sudarshan: Seeing beyond and Serving beyond of the parent club- Rotary Club of Delhi Janak on August 16, 2026 at Juniper Hall, Indian Habitat Centre, New Delhi
The event was graced by the presence of eminent guests including Chief guest
Rtn DG (2026-27) Ajeet Jalan and First Lady Rtn Anju Jalan, Past DG Rtn Ravi Gugnani, newly elected President Rtn Dr Prof. RK Suri and Rtn Poonam Suri, Past President Rtn Rajeev Thukral and Rtn Nisha Thukral, President elect Rtn Archana Agarwal and Rtn Raju Agarwal, Rtn Rajeev Katyal, Rtn Dr Atul Vaish and Rtn Dr Rekha Vaish, Rtn Anil kakkar, Secretary Rtn Kamal Grover, and many others along with the Rotaract & Interactors under RC Delhi Janak.
DG Sir had an interaction with Interact club members regarding participation in 07 Rotary Focus Areas related projects and various district events.
The programme began with the lamp lighting ceremony, collaring of Ex President Rajiv Thukral by past secretary Rtn Rajeev Katyal followed by the Four way Test, change of guard, collaring ceremony, handing over the club charter, exchange of pins, introduction, & felicitation of the new team as well as the outgoing team.
A soulful rendition, Saraswati Vandana, presented by Rtn Dr Rekha Vaish and Rtn Shalini Vashisth was applauded by the audience
It was followed by a special cultural showcase by UDAI by specially abled children with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) followed by their felicitation.
A video showcasing achievement of the club for the session 2025-26 was screened
The Immediate Past President Rtn Rajeev Thukral gave glimpses of the projects that were undertaken.
It was followed by speech by Immediate Past District Governor AKS Rtn Dr Ravi Gugnani reflecting on the past rotary year.
The newly elected President Rtn Dr (Prof.) R K Suri shared his vision for the teams' new projects for the upcoming year covering all 7 areas of focus: Disease prevention & control, water sanitation & hygiene, Economic & community development, maternal & child health, supporting environment, and Basic education & Literacy.
The event concluded with an address by District Governor Rtn CA Ajeet Jalan, motivating and inspiring all Rotarians and interactors for the upcoming rotary year.

Holding the National Flag high, our patriotic young leaders marched through the streets, raising slogans of unity and spreading the spirit of Independence Day across the city!
Key Highlights:
Youth in Action: Students enthusiastically led the march to inspire local residents to hoist the Tricolour at their homes.
Inspirational Address: Hon'ble CM Rekha Gupta urged the youth to honor the sacrifices of our freedom fighters and actively contribute to nation-building.
Unforgettable Experience: Walking shoulder-to-shoulder with civic leaders gave our students a deep lesson in patriotic duty and civic responsibility.

Paramveer Chakra Series 2026: Honouring India’s Gallant Heroes
Their sacrifice became our freedom; their courage, our legacy.
Under the guidance of the principal of the school, Ms Sonia Malik, the school took an initiative and introduced the Param Vir Chakra Series 2026 to celebrate the 80th Independence Day of the nation.
The series was organised from August 01 to August 14, 2026.
It aimed at acquainting students with the extraordinary courage, sacrifice, patriotism, and indomitable spirit of the recipients of the Param Vir Chakra, India’s highest military decoration for valour, and inspiring them to imbibe these values in their own lives.
As part of the Param Vir Chakra Series, a special Value Talk was conducted during the morning assembly each day. Interactors and students were introduced to the inspiring lives and heroic deeds of Param Vir Chakra awardees, enabling them to understand the meaning of courage, duty, selflessness, and service to the nation.
Through these Value Talks, students reflected upon the exceptional bravery and supreme sacrifices of our armed forces and expressed a deep sense of gratitude towards the nation’s heroes-

ECONOMIC AND COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT # HEALTH CARE # AUGUST 2026
Under the guidance of the principal of the school, Ms Sonia Malik, the Interactors and students of Class IX undertook a series of targeted community and household projects as part of the Kaushal Vikas curriculum focusing on practical life skills under HEALTH CARE
Various Domains were….
 Sanitation Audit & Civic Action:
Activity : MAP MY NEIGHBOURHOOD.
Students conducted a field audit in their local neighbourhoods to identify
blocked drains and chronic waterlogging points. By photographing and mapping these vulnerabilities, they compiled a data-driven report and successfully submitted it to the local Resident Welfare Association (RWA) for immediate preventive maintenance against vector-borne diseases.
 Community Mobilization (Cyclathon):
Activity : BURN CALORIES NOT FUEL
Taking charge of complete event logistics, safety routing, and public relations, students organized a cyclathon. The initiative effectively mobilized friends ,neighbours and parents, advocating for physical fitness and reduced carbon emissions through cycling.
 Public Health & Hygiene Demonstrations:
Activity : HOUSEHOLD SANITATION
Students actively demonstrated how to use eco-friendly kitchen staples (vinegar/lemon) to sanitize household taps.
 Consumer Literacy
Activity : LABEL DETECTIVE CAMP
Addressing modern dietary hazards, students hosted a "Label Detective" camp. They trained their family as well as community members to look past deceptive front-of-package marketing and read nutritional grids to instantly isolate hidden sugars, high sodium, and harmful trans fats.
 Digital Wellness Advocacy:
Activity : DIGITAL DETOX ZONES
Focusing on mental well-being and social health, students designed and displayed physical labels to create screen-free boundaries in homes (drawing rooms and bedrooms). The project successfully helped local families reduce screen time and improve face-to-face communication.
Learning Outcomes:
The projects successfully fulfilled the mandate of the Kaushal Vikas skill subject. Interactors and students moved away from rote learning and instead demonstrated measurable skills in project planning, problem-solving, and civic responsibility, making a tangible impact on their surrounding community.

YOUTH SERVICES & EMPOWERMENT JULY 2026- POCSO Act and POSH Act

Under the guidance of the Principal of the school, Ms Sonia Malik, Interact club Ray of Hope of DAV Paschim Enclave conducted a workshop Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and the Prevention of Sexual Harassment (POSH) Act for the teaching and non-teaching staff of the school on Saturday, 25 July 2026

The session was facilitated by *Dr. Komal Dahiya*, an eminent expert in child protection and workplace safety.

The workshop aimed to strengthen the participants' understanding of their legal and ethical responsibilities in ensuring a safe, secure and inclusive environment for every child and employee.

Dr. Dahiya explained the salient features of the POCSO Act, highlighting the importance of identifying signs of abuse, mandatory reporting, confidentiality and adopting a child-sensitive approach while dealing with cases involving children.

The session also focused on the provisions of the POSH Act, emphasizing the prevention of sexual harassment at the workplace, the rights and responsibilities of employees, and the role of the Internal Committee in addressing complaints with fairness, sensitivity and confidentiality

The session proved to be highly informative and enriching, reinforcing the school's commitment to child protection, gender sensitivity.

Interactors and students of all classes brought dusters and cleaning materials from their places and participated in the drive with full zest and zeal

YOUTH SERVICES & EMPOWERMENT AUGUST2026 BUILDING EVENT FOR INTERACTORS 2026

Under the visionary guidance of the Principal, Ms Sonia Malik, DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave, the school organised Inspiria – Annual Award Distribution Ceremony on 1 August 2026, to celebrate and honour the outstanding achievements of students across diverse fields. The event was a grand celebration of excellence, recognising academic brilliance, innovation, leadership, literary accomplishments, and exceptional performance in co-curricular activities.
The ceremony was graced by Dr. N. K. Uberoi, Chairman of the School and Vice President, DAV College Managing Committee (CMC), who attended as the Chief Guest. The highlight of the ceremony was the award presentation, where students were felicitated for their remarkable accomplishments in various domains.
We are immensely proud to announce that the Interact Club "Ray of Hope" of DAV Centenary Public School, Paschim Enclave has been honoured in this event as they were judged as one of the Best & Most Impactful Interact Clubs of Rotary International District 3011 for the Rotary Year 2025–26. The prestigious award was received at REGALIA 2026 – District Thanksgiving Ceremony held at Yashobhoomi Convention Centre, Dwarka, in the gracious presence of the District Governor.
This remarkable achievement stands as a reflection of the inspiring guidance and visionary leadership of our esteemed Principal, Ms. Sonia Malik, whose unwavering encouragement has empowered our students to become compassionate, responsible and socially conscious citizens. Learning goes beyond the classroom!

Under the guidance of the Principal of the school, Ms. Sonia Malik, Interact club along with Political Science Department of the school organized a visit to the Election Education Centre-cum-Museum on 27th July 2026 as a part of their Political Science practical experience for the students of Class XI Humanities stream.

The visit provided students with valuable insights into India's rich electoral legacy, the evolution of the democratic process, the functioning of the Election Commission of India, and the importance of free, fair, and inclusive elections.

Through interactive exhibits and engaging displays, students gained a deeper understanding of citizens' rights, responsibilities, and the significance of informed voting in strengthening democracy.
The excursion was an enriching and memorable experience, transforming theoretical concepts into practical learning and inspiring students to become responsible and aware citizens of the nation.Democracy thrives when every citizen understands the power of their vote.

SUPPORTING ENVIRONMENT # EK PED MAA KE NAAM JULY 2026

Under the guidance of the Principal of the school, Ms. Sonia Malik, Interact club along with Eco Club of the school organized a Tree Plantation Drive under the national campaign Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam.
The drive was conducted in the Community Park of M-Block, Vikas Puri.
It aimed at increasing green cover in the local community area, sensitizing students about the importance of trees in combating pollution and climate change, and promoting the message of Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam dedicating a tree to mother as a symbol of love, care and life.
Each student dedicated their sapling to their mother and tied a name tag Ek Ped Maa Ke Naam on it.
Learning Outcomes:
The drive was a great success where atudents learned the value of responsibility and environmental stewardship. Also, it not only added greenery to Community Park but also instilled a sense of duty towards nature in young minds.
