Today we conducted a student general meeting to dicuss about ideas and struggle of M.K Gandhi. Where we also discussed about those people and ideologues who killed Gandhi.

We also remembered Rohith Vemula on his birthday, we learned about his fight against the injustice, oppression and discrimination he faced in the educational institution and while reading his last letter, we remembered all those martyrs who died fighting this fascist and Manuwadi ideology.

I feel that the constitution is workable, it is flexible and it is strong enough to hold the country together both in peacetime and in wartime. Indeed, if I may say so, if things go wrong under the new Constitution, the reason will not be that we had a bad Constitution. What we will have to say is that Man was vile.
Constitution is not a mere lawyers document, it is a vehicle of Life, and its spirit is always the spirit of Age.

Remembering Comrade Vladimir Lenin on his 100th death Anniversary. He was a Russian revolutionary, politician, and political theorist. Lenin's administration redistributed land among the peasantry and nationalised banks and large-scale industry. While involved in producing a news sheet, Rabochee delo (Workers' Cause), he was among 40 activists arrested in St. Petersburg and charged with sedition. Refused legal representation or bail, Lenin denied all charges against him but remained imprisoned for a year before sentencing. He spent this time theorising and writing. In this work he noted that the rise of industrial capitalism in Russia had caused large numbers of peasants to move to the cities, where they formed a proletariat. From his Marxist perspective, Lenin argued that this Russian proletariat would develop class consciousness, which would in turn lead them to violently overthrow tsarism, the aristocracy, and the bourgeoisie and to establish a proletariat state that would move toward socialism.

Bhagat Singh was inspired by Lenin and his work to uplift proletariat in Soviet. During Bhagat Singh's last days when he was asked what was his last wish, he replied that he was studying the life of Lenin (Reminiscences of Lenin) and he wanted to finish it before his death.
His work on education was remarkable and still foster the education system of world. He introduced free and compulsory general and polytechnical education up to the age of 17 within the Unified Labour School, he established a system of preschool education to assist in the emancipation of women, he opened the universities and other higher institutions for the working people, beside that the expansion of vocational training for persons from the age of 17 was done, andย  the creation of a system of mass adult education was established.ย Since Lenin's time, the Soviet Union witnessed economic growth, setting a example for world along with significant human welfare through education, public health care systems etc.
By remembering him we are recalling the struggle of working class of world fighting against the bourgeoisie capitalist class of world.

My birth is my fatal accident. - Rohith Vemula

This day reminds us the injustice, oppression, and discrimination prevails in educational institutions of India.
Today we are rememerbing Rohith Vemula on his 8th death anniversary.
Mr. Rohith was a PhD student at Hyderabad University, and a activist of ASA (Ambedkar Student Association). He was murdered for raising his voice for Dalit and backward students and for starting a movement against the Brahminical Sanghi Education Institute.
Despite continuous efforts, protest and putting facts in front of administration no response was given to their protest. Instead, to stop them, his scholarship was cut off, and false cases were filed to expel them from the university's housing facility.

He was studying for his PhD in sociology. Due to being enthusiastic readers of literature and science, he had a desire to become author. "I always looked at the stars and wanted to be a writer, a writer of science like Carl Sagan. But in the end, this is the only letter I am going to write," he said in a su***de note.

In an earlier letter to the vice-chancellor of the university in December, he had requested that a "nice rope" should be supplied to rooms of all Dalit students.
"Please give us poison at the time of admission itself instead of humiliating us like this."
In his su***de note, he expresses similar pain.
"For some people life itself is a curse. My birth is my fatal accident. I can never recover from my childhood loneliness. I am not hurt at this moment. Not sad, just empty. That is pathetic. That is why I am doing this."

By remembering Rohith, we are recalling the struggles of all those students who faced caste-based discrimination in educational institutions and suffered various mental and physical abuses due to their surnames, due to their social and cultural background.
We will not let the flame to fade ignited by Rohith Vemula and other student activist who lose their lifes in this struggle, we will continue to fight against these cruel norms of society and these brahminical institutions.

SFI ZHDC joined the Parliament March with the slogan "Save Education, reject NEP, Save India, Reject BJP."

Under the National Education Policy (NEP), privatization of education and the introduction of new laws related to sectarianism have led to a continuous increase in college fees, exam fees, and a modification of the syllabus, where the imposition of SEC and AEC has reduced the specialization of subjects.

SFI ZHDC stand against this communalization, privatisation and commercialisation of Education.
